WTG dofair. I really enjoyed your video...the POV was excellent and it's comforting to a newbie like me to see someone go thru the same actions and results...cept I haven't found the gold yet....but at least I know I'm on the right track.
Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed your vid too dofair, if your nugget did not originate from that quartz cobble and just got stuck in that hole in it, thats pretty cool. Also you need a super-magnet or two on your digging tool, as thay will grab iron out of your hole, and save you a lot of time.
i commend you on your patients, there is vast amount of trash in the area.
many would have given up quickly.
in the video you spoke of a large nugget being found near by.
if its the one im thinking of, it was back in the early 1990s like 92 94.
it was found with a minelab american gold striker.
years ago i researched the area and found the patch it came from, (i think). but it was under claim.
there are houses on top of the area now. its down stream just before lynx crosses 69 on the south side.
i believe its about where they did the hydraulic mining.
one other thing, get that coil on some shallow bedrock and get a rare earth magnet for your pick and you will do well.

I would have checked that quartz again after you got that first piece of gold out, and yep as said above crush it and pan it would have been in order after finding gold in it.
