Been real crazy with work these days but I finally got time to clean my finds from the past couple of times out. Highlights include a very worn half cent, small trade weight with "10" on it, and much to my suprise, a dandy little political campaign coat sized flat button. I noticed the backmark was on the outer edge when I dug it but didn't think much of it. A gentle cleaning revealed the words "Jackson Huzza" with 13 stars. This is the first Andrew Jackson political button listed in Albert's! This one was commemorating Jackson's victory at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812. The word "HUZZA" was like "Hurray" back in those days. These Jackson political buttons are about as scarce as hen's teeth. A first for me for sure! Also pictured was a little pup that got cozy up next to my detector while I was chatting with the landowner.
