What a find. Hunted a permission today that no one is living at, and pulled this out of the ground. There is alot more ground to cover too so I am excited. Unfortunately my digging tool did some damage as i was retrieving [emoji22]. The buildup on the coin can hopefully get some attention and reveal more detail.

That should clean up pretty good. I dug one last year that came out ok. Let it dry and take your time cleaning it. I can’t find my before picture but you just barely tell what it was and now you can read most of the text. Here in New England it’s a crap shoot when it comes to copper coins, I’ve seen beauties come out of the ground but most of mine come out toasted unfortunately. Great job !!!

Thanks. Im scared to touch it. Glad i havnt yet as inoeob would have damaged it. Please give me every detail you can on how you got yours clean. I am pretty new to this as you can see from some of my boneheaded newby questions but its a learning curve. Thank you very much.

Get some Andre’s pencils for starters, all I did was work AROUND they raised detail and I did it over a period of weeks
