Found this button with my fisher f2.
Read gold- silver and had a very strong signal. I can see the gold platting and can see silver from the underside. This appears to be an old button. It’s also surrounded in diamonds. There are 12 diamonds all the same size but some more yellowish and others more clear.

Can anyone Identify, or has anyone heard of such buttons??

** cleaned with water and baking soda, with soft tooth brush

Very interesting piece. I‘m not sure about it being a button, unless it’s for something like a purse. But it seems pretty thick for a button. I imagine it being the pinnacle of something, like a cane (but to small for that).
Cool find no matter what it ends up being :occasion14:

Thanks I was trying to get some new perspective as to what this could be. I like the idea of it being a centre cap/top piece. There were known pirates and rum runners in this area. A large presence of indigenous peoples as well.

Probably not Diamonds but still a cool find !
You can’t really see from the photo but I’m also just noticing now that a bigger stone was set in the centre.. if you look close you can see the lines from where the stone was placed. There are straight lines coming from the centre going out on the shape of a stone.

Looking at the 1st photo again the centre area shows a spot where a pin would of been attached.
This might be the top/crown/head of a hat/hair/clothing stick pin.
