I'm obviously one who is very confident it's out there. Forrest is genuine, if not cagy. I've looked for it more than once, talked to many who have looked. The overriding theme coming from those genuinely interested in doing the leg and bookwork is that it's fun. We enjoy it. That's the whole point. It it's about the money, you'll likely have better odds buying a lottery ticket.

I don't think it's findable. As kffputting as Frankn has been on the topic, he's on point. Every clue is too vague. Plus, we aren't dealing with constants. We're dealing with one man's often creative use of words and definitions.

That being said, this Iowa boy May not have ever seen some of the most amazing things I've ever seen without the excuse of Forrests loot. In an odd way I look up to him a little. I can appreciate a random middle finger aimed at authority every now and then.

I think his money "problems", if there actually are any, are unremarkable to the chase. He isn't selling millions of dollars worth of books, here. Not jaded, so much as realistic. Were basically talking about something the size of a big shoebox. Its a big mountain range out west.

You made the claim its a hoax. The onus of proof is typically on he who makes the claim. I happen to believe its out there. I have no reason to think otherwise.

Here's didactic little story that I borrowed from David Foster Wallace. At first blush, it may seem off topic to some few. But if you think about it, it is relative to the chase game.
"There are these two guys sitting together in a bar in the remote Alaskan wilderness. One of the guys is religious, the other is an atheist, and the two are arguing about the existence of God with that special intensity that comes after about the fourth beer. And the atheist says: "Look, it's not like I don't have actual reasons for not believing in God. It's not like I haven't ever experimented with the whole God and prayer thing. Just last month I got caught away from the camp in that terrible blizzard, and I was totally lost and I couldn't see a thing, and it was fifty below, and so I tried it: I fell to my knees in the snow and cried out 'Oh, God, if there is a God, I'm lost in this blizzard, and I'm gonna die if you don't help me.'" And now, in the bar, the religious guy looks at the atheist all puzzled. "Well then you must believe now," he says, "After all, here you are, alive." The atheist just rolls his eyes. "No, man, all that was was a couple Eskimos happened to come wandering by and showed me the way back to camp."
