Her death while tragic has no bearing on our 2nd amendment rights.

Uh, does this mean that if he didn't have a gun he would not have used a baseball bat, knife, machete, scissors, anti-freeze, lamp cord, protarctor, broken glass bottle or jack handle? Besides, he told her a dozen times, nothing grown in Ohio...

well, was it badly cooked or just not providing one at all?

Duly noted. I will try and word things more appropriately in the future.

Mr. Davest: May I inquire as to what your motivations/intentions were in posting the above?

Also, would you be kind enough to post a link, as I've attempted to look it up and came up
empty handed.

Respectfully,

Recently I was asked, "Why did you post this?". Well folks it's the antithesis of "Granny got her gun and shoots intruder" stories that are rampant.

I was going to toss the "9 year old kills his dad with dads friends 9 mil" but didn't.

I'm still waiting to see one story about "citizens rise up in arms against government, remove tyranny and install democracy". Anyone have any links?

The incidents in your post have no bearing on our right to keep and bear arms, while the "granny got her gun shoots intruder" you speak of does.

Our right to keep and bear arms is a RIGHT guaranteed to us by our constitution, you don't want to exercise that right that is your choice but it will never stop those of us who chose to exercise our right.

99% of time when I leave home I am armed. You live in Florida, Florida has more concealed carry permits than any other state in the country, your around guns all the time your away from home, you just aren't aware of it. In Walmart, Kmart, 7-11, grocery store, movie theatre, city park, beach, garage sales and every where else it is legal to carry.

There are over a Million CWL permits in Florida, we did not get our permits to show our license to a friend at a party and we don't leave our guns at home.

Ok, so are we at the level of suffering from tyranny? Or, are we all just upset at a defunct president and incompetent congress?

Good question Crisp. Just what is the tipping point to get to tyranny? Your right I think a lot of people are upset with the president well at least his view or his agenda .

Actually you are both right. Gun ownership is a double edged sword. Ownership gives us a way to protect ourselves from those who would do us harm, it can also as easliy serve as the instrument of our destruction.

Davest has a point here. While there are many "gun saves us from intruder" stories posted here to show one of the benefits of gun ownership, there aren't many, if any stories showing the flip side of the same coin.

what about the Phillipines???? Have you ever read how we installed democracy there? Have you ever read of Marine Corp General Smedley Butler?

I'm still waiting to see all those concealed carry folks doing drills and marching in parades as a part of a well regulated militia. But that part seems to be left out of the discussion.

You're right TH, one million concealed carriers in the fine state of Florida and that thought scares the bejeesus outa me.

You asked for examples of people over throwing tyranny with firearms, I gave you examples. The Filipinos over threw their govenment ran my Marcos who was ruling through tyranny... America over threw the British who were ruling through tyranny.

Have you ever been to the Phillipines? I have several times, I am married to a Filippino. I am very famuliar with it....

We are not required to do any drills or march in any parades although I have in the past. To get our permits we are required to pass a safty class or be ex military, I am a vet. The 2nd amendment does not say "The right of the milita to keep and bear arms", it says "the right of the people to keep and bear arms".

With over 1,000,000 people with CWL in the state of Florida, where is the mass carnage from it?:dontknow: Our crime rate has gone down becasue of it..... I rarely leave the house without one of my pistols and sometimes I carry 2 heck having 4 pistols I could carry all 4 if I wished.....

The purpose of this forum was not for the debate of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms", it is an established right in our Bill of Rights.
