Florida Lost Wedding Ring - PLEASE HELP!

Bran, I just saved a comparison of resolutions at about the same size of my house in:

Google Earth
house-google.webp

and LiveMaps
house-live.webp

LiveMaps was definitely better at that distance.

Yep, and sometimes it gets a little better too when you rotate the Sat image on the left side of the panel...
Just depends though, 'cause I've had some places out in heavy forest areas which Google had "slightly" better resolution.
I think it just changes for each place and each Sat program... the time of day they took it, weather conditions, and areas that are populated, compared to areas that are more remote. There's some island areas that I've had bad luck getting good shots from either of those Sat programs.

Good job trying to find that ring for him! That was really good of you. FSS..your comment was completely wrong and uncalled for! Shame on you FSS! :munky2:

Nathan,

I think I may have your ring.

I found a ring in March of 2008 -- in fort desoto area.. granted not where you mapped -- but someone could have picked it up -- and dropped it near by...

I sent you a personal note... lets hope it is.

Wow, that would be SOOOO awesome if you did find it!! I tried several times to locate it, but I thought it was lost for good. :-\
I wonder if you just beat me to it...

Could this be your ring? http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,256322.0.html

And try the Street View of Google Maps... If it is available for the location you cannot beat it....Also, the new version of Google Earth has a timeline where you can see views from different time periods.

Here is a sample of a street view from Google Maps:

I still have the ring

I have not heard back from Nathan.

He posted the message -- maybe he gave up!?

I am not 100% sure its his -- but it fits the time and space perfectly -- and its seems to be about the right cost point.

Just sitting on my key holder here at home -- awaiting its owner.

2 months of going back and forth -- slowly getting responses from Nathan about his ring -- so far everything checks out -- he is just taking forever.

For those of you who followed this...

i am curious....hope we end up finding out if its Nathans or not.... ??? ??? ???
