Flask time

here is one I found on the Oregon coast a few years ago. That was an odd day, my son and I walked about a mile across the dunes to the coast and there scattered all around were bottles of a similar age that had just freshly washed up. We stuffed our pockets and coats...we even found a five gallon bucket that had washed in and filled that up too. We took all we could carry but had to leave several right where they lay. I always figured some old privy had finally eroded into the sea and we were just there at the right tide on the right day.

WOW unclemac, fantastic story to be remembered for a lifetime. These treasure caches are out there. Be it bottles or coins. One never knows, just keep looking.

One from the briney depths. Sand blasted and coral covered on one side and clean on the other.

I never considered this a flask but I've seen some bitters displayed here for flasks so here is a 5 1/2" Wintersmith. Withlacoochee find.
It's doing the flaking glass routine on the inside and was difficult to bring out the embossing...

I'm sure nobody will be bitter over your posting up a bitter beauty. Very nice

Embossing on clear and blue is difficult to photo also

Looks like a flask to me. I have airboated the Withlacoochee a couple times.

Here's one I dug a few years back. I think it's TOC. Funny how the liquor store has their own embossed bottles, did they make their own booze in a bathtub out back? haha View attachment 1909628

The gut rot that was sold at the time must of been interesting. Read many years ago what some booze was made up of, and the rubby's of today have it down pat.

I guess if the bottle is flat, it must be a flask. Found this in the 1860's barn. Don't really know the age, but it does have an applied top. Went to the address, and the building is now luxury apartments. A shame the people do not know about the history.

Very
Very nice embossed thanks for showing it.
So true, folks are more interested in the address that what the history of that address is all about.

My only other historical flask, a GII-137a. Found it in a creek many years ago. Reminds me of the eagle on the Peace dollar.

Great looking flask you recovered. Thanks for sharing it with us. Query did you recover anything else from the creek?
