Fisher coming out with a new machine!

Fisher has the field covered pretty good right now. But, they could come out with an el-cheapo shallow water machine, ten feet, to compete with the pro, say 6 to 8 hundred bucks. Don't forget the interchangeable coils and headphones please.

El Cheapo Gleaner?!? Watch out what you ask for....
Several years ago I added an aux input to a set of old personal Radio Shaft two-ways and used a headset with a boom mic. It was VOX or PTT and it worked just fine. Got the sound of the machine and could keep track of whoever was on the other set when we were out in the woods. But it'd take an act of the Big Guy to get the headphone people to incorporate a two-way into their product offerings, audio is one thing, throwing RF into the mix adds everything from FCC specs to antenna specs. Whole new engineering department.

Might not be such a big jump for one of the major players in the MD world to add either a two-way headset or (less likely, an onboard) for guys who hunt remote areas and don't always stay in line-of-sight. Sure would be an add-on that would steal the market place until it got cloned. I sent specs off to two of the portable two-way FRS companies, one of which I worked at for many years but that went nowhere, too niched out of a market I guess. They think NFL and NASCAR headsets are the market of tomorrow...

So until I get enough money, time, brains and brass to build and market it myself, that market waits for someone to come riding in at a decent price point.

Okay Metal Detecting Stuff you better re-stock because when I hunt with others they get to see the travelling show room! More orders should be heading your way.

Fisher makes OUTSTANDING machines! I cant wait to see what they bring to the table!

Just purchased a used F75. Dont see me buying anything else for a long time. This thing is XXX rated.

i need a light weight Gemini that looks better than the present model.
the current model looks like a lashup from 20 years ago.
theres a market for a deepseeker with light weight and good looks

All two box units are heavy and look crazy. Nature of the beast. But that really does not matter. High performance trumps good looks every which way but loose. If you want a good light two box, look at Whites.

we are in a time of rapid change and stiff competition. new detectors are coming about fairly regularly(f75,f75 limited, whites spectra, blsstool, xp deus, minelab ctx 3030 etc) . any electronics item you buy will be surpassed by different/ newer models about every 5 years or so. if the the "new big thing" matters to you then you will be switching detectors often.
a 20 year old cz will compete with or exceed alot of these new models. a guy that knows a older machine inside out can compete with alot of the new models. "beware the man with one weapon"
the rumor is of a new fisher multi freq machine but whats the rest of the story......? anything that fisher does will be lightwieght, have better ergonomics and most likely not cost $3000.00

Agreed 100% detectors do make part of the difference in a hunt but most likely a trained user on a well known detector (good quality obvious) will most likely be very competitive against the latest models. Anyway I think that the latest isn't always the best.

Just please do not make it deeper than my F75ltd. Geeez sometimes the depth indicator shows 15 inches or more. Fisher needs to start making digging tools!!!

Haha I hear that. I got a 75ltd off Ed from here and took it out to an old site that I thought I had cleaned out with my previous detector. Lol am slowly digging 8"++ holes clearing those sites out again. :)

Yea the very first time I took my new F75 SE out,, I got embarrassed by a chap who uses a dang Bounty Hunter 505!!
I have seen him round a few times. He had it from new when they first came out. Its battered to heck but has a new coil.
He thought it was hilarious :unhappysmiley:.
But as I am out there much more often than him haha I hope we meet again in a years time lol :laughing7:
Haha in which case he will probably kick my ass again lol.. But we will see :)........... Hey it's not a competition hehehe!!! lol :)

Well, the Holiday Season approaches....already stores filled with gifts.
There is no word on this.
Sounds like it was a hoax.:lightbulb_off::thumb_down:

All the manufactures have new detectors in the works all the time, but why should they kill off the goose that lays the golden eggs by bringing out a new unit when they have all the older parts still in stock. My money is on Tesoro though.

Tesoro dosen't make a machine that can keep up with the F-75

Tesoro has no future, Sandman. To say this in a public forum gives me no joy because I once worked for Tesoro, departed on reasonably amicable terms, and I'm guessing their most profitable machine nowadays is the Lobo ST which I designed 15 years ago. Tesoro is no threat to us, they are a respected competitor, they have been an asset to the industry as a whole, and I wish we could count them in over the long haul. But there aren't any arrows pointing there.

It's been a while since FTP-Fisher came out with a blockbuster new product. It's not because we lost our mojo, it's because we upped our own expectations and had the resources to go where that led. I may be pessimistic about the future of the USA as a nation (and would be no matter who'd won in the recent election), and am pessimistic about the future of most metal detector companies. But I am quite optimistic about the future of FTP-Fisher.

Dave what I meant by my money being on Tesoro is about them coming out with a new detector next. It is just a guess.

Oh my, that's rich Dave!! :tongue3: I think the real answer is there is nowhere left to go with VLF and PI technology. Jack Gifford was WAY ahead of the rest of his peers in that respect. What Fisher and Whites decided to do was start applying make up to their machines, new "bells and whistles," to make people BELIEVE they were getting something NEW that gave them an edge.

Tesoro just built the best machine they could the first time and left it at that. That is why they STILL offer a LIFETIME warranty. Their machines are not designed to be phased out every two-years for something "new and improved." You can try and spin it it any way you choose, but changing the body style on a car each year doesn't change the same old chassy, engine and drive train.

When Fisher DOES come out with something NEW, it will just be a re-tread with new "features" on the visual readout with some "new" programs and possibly a port to plug into your computer so you can play with that for a while till you figure out it isn't really giving you an edge over your buddy's Tesoro Cibola..
