Def Excellent condition. Still see the word liberty and lucky cuz most newer Indian heads get nice n toasty. Great find id be happy with that.
 

Shows a quarter when swinging, but goes to a nail when in pin point mode.

shows that you can't always trust what the machine shows. those readings are pretty generalized, so it's best to dig everything until you get very used to the machine and really understand what it's telling you. That's a nice indian head. congrats!
 

Perhaps an all metal pinpoint picks up a nail near the good target that you searched with discrimination!

I have a White's machine as well. The pinpoint mode usually gives you a depth indication as opposed to a VDI reading.... although I often get VDI readings that indicate possible coin type targets from nails that have been in the ground a while. Iron objects tend to give off a halo effect reading after being in the ground for a while and that often causes the VDI reading to false a little.

When I started I found one myself 1896 Indian head best find I've gotten
