Hello,

I got part of a day to myself between commercial crab fishing, and hit a small beach park to no avail.

I eyeballed a old house w a decent sized side yard to metal detecting, and knocked on the door. It took a full minute for a nice older woman to answer, and give me a smiling permission.

I started off w an old 1913 wheat, a 1912 wheat, and then a 1950s wheat, all near the front. More scanning and digging revealed a merc. A v nickel also. More and more wheaties, junk, tax tokens, ect. I told her I’d only be 30 minutes, but I think it turned into 2 hours or so.

I avoided the front lawn, because it was nice, and I didn’t want to disturb a thing. But I couldn’t help myself, and I’m glad I did. Huge higtone had me thinking silver coin. Maybe my first franklin?? Maybe another Carson city silver dollar?? Nope!! Pocket watch baby!!

No doubt I knew it was solid and not plated, like my ten other pocket watches. I Scratched the back of the watch, but I ain’t worried about it. The bezel is missing, and I certainly wanted that piece too, but I can’t have everything.

A us military button, pcss co watch fob (not certain what company that is) and a Lone Ranger piece rounded out the hunt.
