King William III Copper (1695-1703) Mid-Hudson Va
Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer II
Found this ornate, monogramed "Travel Cup" in about 5" outside of a 1700's home in the Mid Hudson Valley, NY. It was completely collapsed when found...and the pictures show it as the cleaning process unraveled. It's "Sterling Silver" on the outside and I beieve Gold-Plated on the inside. No idea of it's vintage or who might be the owner...yet. Any ideas? GD

Outstanding find......and now the fun begins, most of my enjoyment comes from the research - before and after the dig.

Keep in mind when trying to find the owner that the middle initial was probably their LAST name.? So, look for MSB. ;)

Excellent find!
