King William III Copper (1695-1703) Mid-Hudson Va
Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer II
Found this ornate, monogramed "Travel Cup" in about 5" outside of a 1700's home in the Mid Hudson Valley, NY. It was completely collapsed when found...and the pictures show it as the cleaning process unraveled. It's "Sterling Silver" on the outside and I beieve Gold-Plated on the inside. No idea of it's vintage or who might be the owner...yet. Any ideas? GD

Spotz is right. I saw a cup like that on the Antiques Road Show. It was appraised for alot of money. I can't remember how much, but I do remember how surprised I was when I saw the price.

Great find, GDown

Didnt the waterboy have a cup that collapsed? Maybe it belongs to the Mud Dogs.....

That is really nice! Whenever I search around old homesites all I ever find are those old zinc/porcelain Mason jar lids.
