Nokta Velox One, Makro Racer(Red), Garret AT Pro, Garrett Ace 400, Garrett Ace 250
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
For anyone doubting the legitimacy of the Ace 250 as a serious detector (Its an OK detector for beginners), my 250 pulled an 1819 Matron Head Large Cent out of a local park this morning. It was 8 inches down and giving a solid "ding ding ding" signal. It's HEAVILY corroded... I've got it soaking in olive oil now. It's worthless, but I'm STOKED!

EDIT: I should clarify... it's monetarily worthless, but it's priceless to me. And from what I'm reading on this forum.. a pretty rare find for someone just starting out detecting.

Great find, and you have every reason to be proud of it! I still remember my first really old coin find - an 1864 two cent piece. I thought I would lose my mind! And it is still my favorite coin. Congrats!

Great job. I agree with poster that noted that it is the detectorist more than the machine.

The only silver coin I've found was a Barber quarter with my 250. Upgraded since but love lending it out as it's a true performer and easy to learn.

I loved my Ace 250 I swore I would never get rid of it. But once I started on mine lab explorers I never went back to the Ace. I sold it to a friend so I would have someone to hunt with. I highly highly recommend getting an aftermarket Double D coil for it. It turns it into twice the detector that it is. Also I found the belt plate in my avatar with the 4-inch sniper coil. Congrats on the large copper. I found my first large copper the first day with the new Double D coil a nice spot I had already Hunted.

That is a cool find would be worth a lot to me Good job!!!Keep it up with new detector

ONCE SMITTEN THERE IS NO QUITTING , NICE FIND NEW MEMBER AND WELCOME TO TNET .
