Well I finally got out for about 45 minutes the other day...then yesterday for another 1 1/2 hours. I was stuck at work for the 3 days of 60 degree temps we had >:(...but at least I got a couple of hours in. 08 started out just where 07 left off.....diggin' goodies. Nothin spectacular...but at least I dug some deepies. I found my first cache and just about filled my britches when I saw it in the ground ;D. It was the last dig of the day and it was a solid quarter hit at 4". I figured what the heck...I'll bend over for a clad quarter. When I got the hole dug I saw this coin purse...fully intact...and still zipped shut...and FULL of coins!! I did not open it..and decided to dream of silver all the way home. When I got home I placed a towel on the desk and carefully opened it hoping for silver to come rolling out. WRONG...ALL CLAD :'(...but still a nice and thrilling find and the latest coin was from the early 70's. Maybe next time.
Ended the day with a few wheaties..2 silver Roosey's...the 1901 injun...the clad cache... a tiny sterling silver heart charm from 7" down...a very heavy solid sterling silver ring..and the Roman coin charm which nearly made me fill my britches again...cause it L@@KED real in the ground.

SF,
What a find. Im proud of you for waiting till you got home. Not many could have done that. Sometimes the wondering, the exptations, the unknown of it is a thrill in it's own.
Hope you hit gold soon.
Tennessee Joe
Thanks TJ.....hopefully if I ever get the chance to find another cache...gold and silver will roll out ;D
The thrill of the unknown did play a factor...AND it let me dream of the riches that i hoped would spill out of the purse :D

Nice hunting and great finds ... silver and Injuns are always good ... too bad about the coin purse ... it would have been cool if it were full of old silver ... congratz and continued good hunting ... Jimmy!
WHAT IS THE ONE COIN ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT??
Thanks MONTCOPATIM. the coin on the bottom right is some kind of coin made into a charm...or just a charm that is a fake coin. It sure looks silver though doesn't it? That's why I nearly filled my britches twice on this hunt ;D
It IS a coin...but not a real one and looks to be silver plated or heavy nickle plate.

I bet that was a heart stopper for sure! Well a clad cache is better than no cache. I can only imagine the thoughts going through your head on the way home. Sorry for the dissapointment.

Freaky, I'm amazed that you' waited until you got home to look in your coin purse. It's a great find. :)

Maybe you should see a doctor about this problem you're having keeping your shorts clean. Maybe Kirky's doctor has a two for one special. ::) ::)

Thanks KFB...a heart stopper for sure. If gold or silver would have rolled out....I don't know what would have happened.

:D :D :D Now that's funny Mona...but let's get one thing straight...I DO have clean shorts ;D ;D...and I DON'T have a problem keeping them clean ::) ::)All that being said...IF gold or silver coins rolled out of that purse...there WOULDN'T have been a clean article of clothing on me from the waste down ;D ;D :D :D ;)
PS:...I'm still looking for a spare tie dye Harley shirt for you ;) ;)

I'd have to turn my back and let someone else open it and just listen to the "ching".....Very cool dig though!!Congrat's on the Silver...

You still got some good coins and stuff. I know what you felt when you found the purse. I found one of those plastic ones with the slit downd the middle. Fortunately for me, this one had silver, 2 walkers and a merc, and a few wheaties. This was in 1986. Haven't found one sice... WTG

Thanks RH. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. A cache is a cache I guess...and it was a blast finding it. Maybe someday I'll pluck another purse out...only with barbers and seated's in it ::)

Hey Bryce, that is cool and beyond. I found a coin purse one time and my hunting pard nearly went crazy when i didn't open it. I just put it in my pouch and started to hunt . I did it for meaness and it worked. I finally opened it and it had $1.70 in silver and some pennys.

Here is a pix of the 96-s dime I got today kind of slick but it counts.

Great find! If you seem to have a problem when you in counter a good find I would suggest "DEPENDS". They will help with any embarrassment during those exciting moments.

If silver came out of the purse I don't think even depends would have helped. :D

You did good, Bryce...Congrats!
