Well I finally got out for about 45 minutes the other day...then yesterday for another 1 1/2 hours. I was stuck at work for the 3 days of 60 degree temps we had ...but at least I got a couple of hours in. 08 started out just where 07 left off.....diggin' goodies. Nothin spectacular...but at least I dug some deepies. I found my first cache and just about filled my britches when I saw it in the ground . It was the last dig of the day and it was a solid quarter hit at 4". I figured what the heck...I'll bend over for a clad quarter. When I got the hole dug I saw this coin purse...fully intact...and still zipped shut...and FULL of coins!! I did not open it..and decided to dream of silver all the way home. When I got home I placed a towel on the desk and carefully opened it hoping for silver to come rolling out. WRONG...ALL CLAD ...but still a nice and thrilling find and the latest coin was from the early 70's. Maybe next time.
Ended the day with a few wheaties..2 silver Roosey's...the 1901 injun...the clad cache... a tiny sterling silver heart charm from 7" down...a very heavy solid sterling silver ring..and the Roman coin charm which nearly made me fill my britches again...cause it L@@KED real in the ground.
