It certainly isn't much, but I'll take them any day. I thoroughly enjoy just getting out in the woods, just getting outside. Although I didn't find much to support my hunch that Colonial home sites once may have stood, I'm very certain they are there, its just finding them that can be very difficult sometimes. Friday I set off in the thick forest, along a large North Carolina river known to be followed by the Native Americans. The Ancient trail, so it's called, was paved long before the White settlers even thought of using them. I spent a good part of the day walking up and down steep hills along the river heading towards my favorite sites, just from a different direction. I arrived at the location about 10 am and just before dark I started to hit some tell tale Iron targets and signs of an old homestead. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until my next adventure to thoroughly detect the site. :)

Looks very promising Mike. If the pics of you on the Ford tractor today that you sent me are current, you just did beat the storm. The item in the lower left of the pic that looks like a pocket watch winder, what is it? If you find a pump to inflate blow up dools, you know who to return that to-LOL. Nice finds and HH Bud, Quindy.

Nice digs Mike. I hunted Sunday as the storm hit. What is up with all of the Merry Widow lids. I have been digging those also. Looks like you are on the site

I see a pewter handle there. Nice. Is that a coin (green patina) on the left or a button? :dontknow:
Nice job,

Hey Scott, naww, that was last year. It's blowing so hard right now, it just wouldn't make sense to push the snow....Back wards! With a Box scraper. LOL The state says we don't get enough snow here to buy a normal blade to plow with.
