This coin has eluded me for years, until yesterday. But then I only know of two others that have been found in SW PA. It's a 1785 Nova Constellatio. These coins were minted in Birmingham, England and shipped to the US right after the Revolutionary War. I included a picture from the coin book. Mine is the one in the lower left.
I also found a 1794 Liberty Cap US large cent. Unfortunately, it's a little beat up.

But there are so many other perks to living in California...wildfires, earthquakes, droughts....
Seriously, I envy some of the gold rush relics and coins I see coming out of Calfornia.
True , the 1800’s has a certain attraction, but research is still needed to run across serious neat stuff…!
Finding history and holding it, wondering who lost it and what were the circumstances then, makes it all worthwhile…!

Very nice find Congrats

Congratulations on the find and making the banner. It's a good way to end one year and start off the new one!

Congrats on the beautiful banner sir !!

That thing is in REALLY good shape! I also found one at an early site not far off of National rd in Washington Co. Congrats Steve!

A guy I know from Westmoreland County said a friend of his knows a guy that found one in Washington County but it was in pretty rough shape. Maybe he was talking about you?

I'm not sure I know of too many diggers out that way. Maybe a friend of a digging buddy? Either way more than likely a once in a lifetime dig! Yours looks to have more details than mine that's for sure!

Amazing find Steve, congrats on achieving BANNER #4! :occasion14:
