It looks to me like it would be possible to make the date on the KGII readable. I can see what looks like "1754" in its present condition.
 

Got out for a few hrs today at a nearby site. Nabbed my 1st copper of the year 17xx KGII as well as an 1882 IH.
Felt good to dig a copper as it's been a long drought. Thought this year was going to be a bust.
