I was out the other day, at a local spot, cut grass field where houses used to stand, loads of trash in the ground. I have hit this place dozens of times, and taken many people to hunt there. I have seen no less than (10) people hunt this 20' x 50' front yard area.

I got a large signal, 5" long or so, obviously not what I am looking for, extra jumpy too... just like the other (100) pieces of trash that I had dug up. I figured what the heck and dug a hole. When I looked in, I saw a shiny chain hanging out of the side wall of the hole. I could tell that it was NOT a dog collar or key chain.

I gave it a pull and out popped an ID bracelet... and I could tell that it was SILVER and heavy!

I used the name on the front to figure out who the owner was... was is the key part, as he has passed, so has his wife, whose name was on the reverse of the bracelet. I located their daughter... also passed away though. I am unsure exactly what to do at this point, but will ponder on it a bit.

There are a couple of takeaways from this:
1. No place is ever hunted out.
2. Don't be so sure that junk signal is junk.
3. Dig a hole... that's why you have a digger with you.

That is the biggest piece of silver I have ever found, and it sure did make my day.
Thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts.

If you guys want you can borrow a pair of my suspenders incase you ever find a piece of silver like that..

I have never found next of kin to be grateful. I feel you should now be able to call it yours. However of course that is your choice.

I found one in a lake a few years back and had a name on the front and names on the back and a date of 1944. I used zabasearch and and located one person with that name in Michigan. He was FLOORED. His parents gave it to him on his 16th birthday. He lost it soon after in the lake. He was in his late 70's when I found him. I sent it to him and thought that was the end of it. A few weeks later I got a letter with a thank you note and a crisp 100.00 bill inside. Most I have found have lead me to dead ends except that one and a WW2 one which I sent to Virginia to his son and grandson.

Great find! Hope you find a greatful relative. If not Its yours.

I found a silver necklace I almost passed on because of the signal, it gave a scratchy, bouncy signal but it was a water hunt so scooping was easy enough and bingo a sterling rosary. After that, weird signals intrigue me enough to check them out. Also a mesh silver Tiffany ring had a scratchy signal but considering I had already pulled one Tiffany silver ring out of the hole I kept looking. You never know the junk signals can be chains/necklaces or broken rings or mesh rings.

That's a chunky one tom

Nice of you to try and track down the family members

"Well played, sir"...........(winking emoticon)
You didn't pass on that "hunted out" parcel and it has paid dividends!! Keep after it every so often..........it may surprise you again!!
You've gone one extra mile to attempt a return to the family. Do you have another mile in you?
