🥇 BANNER Fantastic Bayonet found at our school!

Way to go Oxbowbarefoot. They have a good teacher and your finds reflect that. It is nice to be able to share your adventures and enthusiasm like you do.
Great post and wonderful socket bayonet.

If any other teachers out there are interested, I will be developing a curriculum to help guide this class going forward. It will be aligned with Common Core standards and VT State Standards across all subject areas (meaning it will cover content in science, social studies, math and ELA) at all grade levels. I'll be happy to share the curriculum and any lesson plans developed along with it.

FYI - this shipped out today via Priority Mail... if the Post Office does their part you should have them for the weekend. Not sure if you spend time with the kids over the weekend or not, but I wanted to try and get them there in case something was planned with the kids. :)

Hope they have fun with them!

That is incredibly generous of both of you! We will post all of our finds and put up pictures of our display case once we build it. Thank you again!

wow, vino and fort bedford detectors, you all are top notch...as for the op.these are what i like to see as a treasure.

Thank you Fort Bedford Detectors! Thanks Vino!

Yes, it's a Dutch Bayonet

Right on, it's a Dutch Bayonet. Had one myself. These date from early 1700's. Distributed to Colonial Militias in Virginia and Georgia.
Poss ... German-Dutch socket bayonet...
VERY rare... if it is... and a great find.

American Revolution... and banner worthy if confirmed.

Interesting, makes one wonder how it made it up to Vermont...

I bet the kids are having a blast & learning at the same time! Banner nominated!!!

I agree with everything said here. I'd be more then happy to donate a new detector to a local school. Hypothetically speaking if the opportunity presented it's self. Good Stuff.

Farmers,
The detector is on it's way! PM sent with UPS tracking info.

Can't wait to see what else the kids find!

Maybe we could see a class photo with some finds and all the new equipment. This site has some wonderful people. I'm proud to be a member

DocBeav, Thank you again for your generosity!

Relic Nut, we plan on taking some unboxing photos along with photos of our finds!

I know that I am not alone when I say this...
If you guys need some pointers or advice on settings... or items found... no matter how small or trivial it may seem to you...
We would be more than happy to help ... No matter how you feel the importance or trivialness...
And as far as items... any items... even junkie stuff... even if not of historical value...
If In doubt or need help with anything...
please start a thread asking ANY questions so we can help in the many ways we can here.
Many of us are here just FOR that... to help and see what people find.

And I know many besides me are awaiting to see the "next batch" of finds...
Now with more detectors... more ground can be covered and more finds will be coming in I hope...

Looks like you guys might be keeping us busy... :)
