A huge field with no signs of a site but perfectly flat got my attention. Due to the drought we had, crop failed and was plowed. It's close to a village dating back to 950AD but finds were scarce. Waiting for the "good" fields to be harvested. Anyway, a day with silver is a good day. A couple buttons, musket balls and an interesting lead spool (?) rounded the hunt off.

Loving that old silver coin. Nice selections of relics too. Very interesting stuff.:icon_thumleft:

Nice Dutch coin!!!!! 950 AD I would be digging every signal Thanks for the great post!!! Tommy

pretty awesome field, congrats

Yeap, we are waiting on the right fields as well. But any options worth a punt.

Strange Lead thing, maybe an unusual type of Loom weight??

Thanks Tommy! You refer to the Groschen? It's a Prussian coin. Many coins in Europe were called Groschen over the times.

Hello Westfront, think the farmer may have been a bit hasty, ploughing those peas back in. As john Lennon said " all we are saying is, give peas a chance ". Robert.

We know, Romans are not far away! At least i have seen a Constantius coming up today. And it had a punched hole. Rare find here. For the lead thingy, i was thinking the same. Just because i have no other idea... :icon_scratch:

You're not that far off Tommy! Groschen were common throughout continental Europe from the Netherlands to the Alpes. Even after real Groschen went out of circulation 10Pfennig coins still were called Groschen. Like you call 10 Cents Dime. :occasion14:

Another silver Lu. Makes a good start. Is that a wheel and axle off a toy truck in your scrap pile? Good luck.

Nice mix of finds! I find the lead thingie curious. Reminds me of a rivet I once found.

Die Saison ist wieder eröffnet? :laughing7:
(the season is starting again?)
