Anyone else having trouble scrolling around ebay? The first thing that happens to me is I go to ebay's home page, and usually click on collectibles. The first thing I get is a popup that McAfee blocks. After that I get to go to where I want, but there are all sorts of ads with McAfee blocking a bunch, but not enough, and periodically I'll get full page popups. Some of those are from ebay wanting me to do a contest or answer some questions, others are ads. This doesn't happen to me anywhere but ebay, and I'm a vast computer desert, and my young helper won't be back for several weeks. If it's ebay doing that, I for one, am not going to put up with it, I'm certainly not required to shop there.

I just jumped over to EBay and selected collectibles - NO popups. I am running FireFox and have "block pop-up windows" selected.

Sounds like a virus posing as ebay OR Macafee being very overcautious.

Do you have Macafee? Try turning it off and visit ebay. Do not click on any popup from either company. If everyting goes away sounds like Mac.

I have no problems with ebay (other than all their stupid buyer oriented rules, but that is another rant)

I don't have any problems. I went through a stage like that years ago with Norton antivirus. I got rid of it, been using AVG ever since. Never had another problem. Try running a adware/spyware check with something other than McAfee. Try downloading this and run it- Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

Use Elvira it's a great free program. That McCabe and norton are kind of crappy. Firefox is a great browser it stops viruses and stuff theough the browser it selfs code. iE is crappy.make sure if you get avg u get the right one! Ones a virus that will wipe you clean the other is the real deal. But we use Elvira and never had a problem since installing it. We used the major 3 before and had 3 computer crashes with them. I'm only recommending Elvira is I've heard many computer software and mechanics say its the best free program out there and that's what they us( yes I seem it in there) on theirs.

Thanks folks, I'll see what I can do.

Like others have said, it is definitely your computer, not ebay. Get some free tools like spywareblaster and malwarebytes and a free antivirus program (I use Avira). Also d/l slimcleaner and run that once a week.

I'm going to agree with the others.

McAffe sucks, big time. Download AVG (like diggumup suggested) or Avast! (my personal favorite). Both have free versions which are very comprehensive; also, for added security download Malwarebytes and Spybot Search and Destroy.

P.S. If you don't use it already, download Mozilla Firefox and download the add-on "Adblock Plus": the ads magically vanish from every website! :)

FWIW, ebay was crazy slow for me yesterday...I mean crazy slow. Took forever to load pages. I had no problems at all on other sites.

I already use firefox, so I did the Adblock Plus, and that solved a lot of problems on Ebay. Thanks for that information. It really helped, and I'll be using something besides McAfee. Thanks to everyone for all the information and help.
