ebay concern

like others have said just make sure you ship with delivery confirmation. If paid thru paypal, see if they have a confirmed PP mailing address (means PP address and CC address match). When listing an item, you can also set preferences so that no one with a 0 feedback, etc. can bid on your items. You can also set preferences so that international bidders can not bid on your items. If dollar amount is over $250, you are required by PP to ship with signature confirmation to be eligible for protection.

Are you sure you don't need a signature for under $250? Is that new, or only an American thing, or do I have to start paying closer attention?

DC up to $250 and Signature Confirmation over $250, per ebay policy.

I would agree, I wouldn't recommend blocking 0 feedback buyers either, blocking bidders with multiple recent policy violations or bidders from other countries if you do not wish to ship internationally could definitely be useful however. Just checked and blocking 0 feedback bidders is not possible (I feel like it was at one time?), blocking bidders with negative feedback is however. Just go to "buyer requirements" when you are listing an item and check out the different options.

It was most definitely possible, at least as of a year ago because I went to buy something under a seller account which had no feedback as a buyer and I was blocked.

I, like many buyers on Ebay, do not provide feedback to the seller.

If I make a purchase by 'Auction' or 'Buy-It-Now', payment is made immediately, and within days, its in my hands.

The sellers happy, and I'm happy...end of story.

When I go to Sears, or Penny's or wherever, I don't tell the sales associate she's cute and has a nice smile...

I pay her, get my sack of goodies, say thank you, and leave...

In my opinion, if the seller needs a pat on the butt or a positive stroke everytime a sale is made, then they are in the wrong business...

The sellers are in the business to make a sale and turn a profit...not to gets ego boosts....

I agree for the most part, I want their money not their feedback, and feedback is just one more thing that takes time out of my week. I cared a little more when I had the 20% discount, but when they made it tougher I said the heck with it, and I'm kinda glad because I can get back to not caring. You know I have never actually read the feedback left for me with the exception of neutrals, and negatives, because I had to find them so I could block the buyer.

So that's across the board... all countries? Sounds like it, and makes sense, and is good because for me to get a signature on a $250 or under package is fairly expensive. Knowing that doesn't really change much for me, just good to know.

This is actually for US sellers shipping to US buyers. These requirements are what PP "reccomends" you do in case the buyer files a chargeback. For example if you shipped something within the US that sold for $300 and only used delivery confirmation, I do not believe you would be protected under paypals seller protection policy. I'm not sure if links are allowed on this site, but the PP page you want to look at is titled "expanded seller protection shipping reccomendations" and breaks down the requirements for different countries.

But yes if you are shipping within the US and using the USPS for sales under $250 all you need is DC to be protected under PP's seller protection program
