Hello all,

I recently started walking the river with my son and have found quite a few interesting stones which I believe could be some sort of artifact. Looking for opinions.

In my opinion, they look like natural rocks. Water can make some interesting looking things with stones. What you have to look for with artifacts is evidence of chipping, pecking, etc. Something that looks man made. Also, the material. There's a lot of YouTube channels out there that show people finding artifacts, you should check a few of them out to get a better idea of what to look for. One that I always watch that's pretty good is Rockscousteau..he finds a lot of stuff on the Ohio River. But check out some of those types of videos. And keep looking! The only way to learn is to get out and do it. Good luck!

I’m in Lehigh County. Thanks for the input. I’m going to post a few more pics before I concede defeat...

Some of these have a red “paint” on them. It could be leaching from the stone or a. Helical reaction, or maybe something dumped in the river??? It comes off with water and a tooth brush.
