Found this cuff button weekend before last but haven't had time to post. Dug at one of our "hunted out " sites! This was my first hunt in some time and only got about an hour in. First early navy cuff for me and also different from my other two early navy buttons as this one only has 15 stars, the others have 16. Any input greatly appreciated, as always! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Great Dig Darby. See that place isn't hunted out at all. Tyler seeing your post said did he buy a Dues yet?

Can't offer any help on the 15 v.16 stars, but that is one heck of a find! Thanks for sharing.

What a great piece of history that bad boy is! Nice work!

dang, that's a looker!

Thanks bro. Yep those hunted out sites still have some to give! Jon dug a smooth Spanish silver that afternoon too! But no, no Dues....yet.

Nice find! Congrats!

1810s-1830s depending on backmark. They made them in 13,14,15,&16 stars with 15 being the least common. US Navy button. Nice find man

i; It is a War of 1812 Naval Officers "Coat" button. Grade is Fine. What is the 15th State to join the Union. Then you will know what State it is from ok. Value: $30 - $50. Nice Find. PEACE:RONB

I really don't care about value on these finds but just think about the serviceman who was cursing the day he lost that button and had to replace it. You picked it up 200 years later. AWESOME

Barker...I'm sorry but the stars have no indication what state it is from nor the exact date. There are 13 star 1830s button (backmark determines the date) and no states sponsored specific navy buttons. Just trying to give him a better ID

nice button.
