Went on a short hunt to an old house/farm ruins today. I did try my luck with magnet fishing in a nearby swimming hole with no luck. Anyway, I dug this item near a spring house. It is made of copper/brass with a rubber type sleeve. I thought at first that it may be an old baby bottle, but the part that looks like the nipple is too hard. it had some type of screw on bottom. Any ideas ?? If we dont Identify it here I will try my luck on the "What is it " thread. Thanks folks !!

I think its an old grease gun

It's from outer space!

Would a grease gun have a rubber sleeve inside the tube. ?. You guys may be right but the sleeve is throwing me off.. seems like the rubber would hold water type fluid.?

The sleeve could be the remnants of the grease tube that was once in it, or it is a seal for the plunger to slide along. Maybe the older grease guns used a rubber bladder and the pusher just pushed against it forcing the grease out.. Todays grease gun just have a thin plunger that fits tight in the cylinder..

It might be a cake decorator.
