I'm almost embarrassed posting my finds, I got my 1st detector in July, a White's M-6 and was immediately hooked. I love this hobby and read the posts on here daily, but don't post much because my finds are mostly clad. I'm totally envious of the finds the folks back east make and Crusader makes, I sure can't compete, my town was founded in 1912, and there's at least 4 other detectorists here that I know of.

My paltry finds for this my 1st season are:

2 silver Roosevelts: 1961 & 1964
1 Merc: 1927
1 Canadian silver dime: 1950
2 Silver quarters: 1907 Barber & a 1943 Canadian quarter

6 Total for 2007, my season is over, we've had -21 mornings already here in NE Montana, and snow cover for a about a month, so no diggin' until the ground thaws next spring. I'll have to detect through you good folks who live in the warmer climes, take care and here's to 2008!

Happy Holidays!

Actually seems like you are doing fine! remember it seems Crusader easily comes up with the best stuff... I do not think we have many who could put their finds next to his and compare...honestly what would you rather have his museum like finds...or silver coins worth a buck each in melt....we have to take what the ground gives us...welcome aboard and stick with it...I found close to 12,000 coins this year and that was excluding 2 1/2 months...(December included/ice snow covering ground still from Dec 4th) most of my finds were also clad..I posted everyday I hunted! Some actually supported what I was trying to do (go over 10,000 coins) in my first full year of detecting in 20 years...so remember we have all kinds here..post away!

It ain't about the monetary value, Gregg. ;)

I FINALLY put all this years keepers in 2x2's today. I counted 78 silvers. But that didn't include about 5 or 6 silver Rosies, some war nickels, 3 or 4 silver Washington quarters, and 4 burnt silver coins I found.
(One of which was a seated dime :'().
I lost track of some of these coins cause I ended up using them in mine and a friends coin garden.
So I'd say I'd be close to 90 if you count them.
Most of my silver was Mercs, and Barber dimes. My favorites coins were my 1905 Barber half, 2 Seated dimes, and the 2 spanish Reale coins I found. ;)
