Only 12 silver coins out of almost 12,000 coins for year...over $750 in clad..over 100 wheaties and some nice jewelry and rings helped though....along with an additional $300 worth of free accessories I received for 2 stories to White's...dfx paid for itself...within a year...now paying for my next detector... Surprised we do not have more people asking about gold...seems that is mainly an area for the water guys...but I bet most would prefer gold over silver... I would anyways... but would like to increase my silver finds next year...but a few pieces of gold equals more than a few silver coins unless a key date...

SE? F75? ??? :D

I think the f-75 just runs on batteries??? No rechargable pack??? Is this true...not good at that price...I would never waste money on batteries...have 2 factory rechargables packs that cost me zero...

Two........ I only got them last week.......I bet if I went back I could find more.........

I got 47,I've been stuck at that number for more than 3 weeks.I was hoping for 50.I still got a little time left if the weather behaves.

only 21 for me including a 1944 netherlands 25 cent piece

Well I don't feel so bad after reading some of these posts. I have found only 3, 1 Washington quarter and 2 Roosevelt dimes. Oh, I got a few war nickels too so I guess about 6 total! I only found 2500 coins so I'm not doing too bad I guess.

Really a slow year silver wise for me. Just under 6000 clad coins, but only came up with 5 silvers.

A Washington Quarter
3 Roosevelt dimes
and a 1853 Half Dime

Found the half dime on the last day that we could hunt this year. Hope for more and better luck next year.

68 silvers is a darned fine year! I am at 186 and thinking I can double that if the weather would cooperate >:(. Count is at 111 mercs, 20 barber dimes, 28 rosies, 1 lone seated dime, 1 canadian dime, 1 canadian 5 cent, 5 SLQ's, 6 barber quarters, 16 washingtons, 4 barber halfs, 3 walkers, 1 peace, 1 morgan, and 1 kennedy half. I Found a couple of Ben Franklins though I dont remember if they were found late last year or early this year and they seem to have VANISHED from the silver box?

Very nice coinage, SilverBob!! Congrats on a great year.

I'm at 633 silver coins for the year (I got 5 dimes today), along with 79 individual pieces of silver jewelry. I found no caches. They were all individual digs in the turf. Yes, I had a good handful of multiple silver holes, but no caches. Really no more goals to set for the year except to try for 3000 wheaties. I'm about 100 away.

We all know that gold is worth more than silver, but for me, it's not about how much a silver coin is worth compared to gold, or $1 in clad. For me, I would much rather find the older coinage because of its rarity. No more are being dropped. There is a learned skill level required to find the older coins amongst all the trash/clad in the turf. They are not easy to find. Most of the time, if an md'er finds a couple in a day, that is a good day. If they were easy to find, many more md'ers would be in the 100's. I could care less how much money the coins are worth. Coin value is for bragging rights. I have no intentions on selling my silver coinage, unless I was really hard pressed for cash. My coinage, to me, represents all the hard work I put into recovering them all, which no monetary value can be placed. Together, they make a great conversation piece, and something I can be proud of each time I look at them. I would like to say, though, I really salute the guys who are finding good numbers of gold in the turf. It is very difficult to do. You have to dig quite a few pieces of low conductor trash each time out to even have a chance at the gold. To be successful, patience is a must whether finding gold or silver.

Happy Holidays,
CAPTN SE

11

3 - War Nickels
1 - Barber Dime
4 - Mercury Dimes
3 - Rosies

I don't know how many I dug last year but it was much better with a few quarters, two halves and one silver dollar. Oh well...I'll have to increase it in 2008.

I have 19 for the year so far ranging from nickels to the 3 halves I dug this year. Also in the pic is my six year old daughter's first silver. Looking at a forecast of mid to high 70's the rest of the week, I will be after more. Happy Hunting All.
