Dredging tomorrow, california, come get us coppers

V luv them monster boulders and you are bad for not showing the shine from that ol'school keene?? Trinity in the midst of a ruining once again as million upon million stacked as the idjets move the river from one side a the canyon to the other(where folks have homes). River a mud as all rafters, kayakers, fishermen and guides are in a tizzy bigtime. With NO dredging I find it hard to give a f as Junction City area killed like the rest a the river in reclaimation areas. Don't last through a single winter, even dry ones as the insanity, and bleeding millions to desecrate a river...sic sic sic...John

Hey Vini,

Those are my old tromping grounds. Used to be a Boy Scout camp across from the fishery, there is actually a dam back there by the name of Crocker Hoffman, it's used to put water into the irrigation canals heading to Merced. It's a couple miles above Henderson Park. I would assume the salmon work would be below that, I don't think there is a ladder for the salmon to get above that dam. The gold gets bigger, by quite a bit, as you near Merced Falls. I talked to a landowner in the area that expressed that and the bigger cobbles that direction is an indication of that as well.

John what are the mding ops like at the "old",river bed?Moving the river is a method of old......with fantastic results!I may need to take a road trip?

ONLY PROBLEM NO DREDGING and river bed, once water removed is private property is back again and my friends DO SHOOT. Last ahole tresspassing surveyor was escorted off the property at gun point and threat of loss of life hahaha. Hence the problem-John

Looks like a good hole, now show us what you got. :)

On that note, show us what you found from your last PANNING trip. ;)

Well there's always the Claude Dallas approach.

Not recommended, but when law abiding, tax paying citizens are unfairly regulated, harassed and arrested, it's bound to happen.

Pencil pushers rule our society, all our wealth is sent over seas, it's harder and harder to harvest our natural resources, and people wonder what's wrong.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but there it is anyway.

Gold Maven, correct me if i'm wrong. Claude Dallas, for you guys under 50, was a fur trapper in Nevada back in the 1980's? I believe he was cited for
violation of new trapping regs, but when he refused to appear in court, nv game wardens went after him into nowhere northern nv. When they finally
found his camp, he got the drop on them, shot and killed two wardens, and took off for parts unknown. There was a massive manhunt that lasted about
six months before he was captured.

I am personal friends with Claude. He is out of prison and doing well. The one warden was continually harassing him,he wasnt doing anything wrong.Yes,he did kill two wardens,I know the story he tells me,and I trust and its far from what the books and Movie protrays. He is a good man

You mean to tell me that Hollywood might bend the truth to sell tickets. I am afraid this pattern will repeat itself as un elected beuarcrats push reasonalble men beyond the point of no return.

I saw your other video, did you guys find any nuggets on that bar/island when you were MDing?

Ok so bad news first , barely any gold in that spot I know you'd THINK it would have been there but NOT, I think I got 30 small specks if that, jaw dropper but thats how it goes in this game, haven't been back to work that higher bench but we will, that bar up above might be loaded who know.

I will show off a little we got yesterday have to keep this unamed but its only 15 minutes from the house here and we got to meet a few guys from the board here, Oakview it was a pleasure meeting and talkin with you, you have a great hard workin son, he's an animal LOL talk about gold fever that guys got the scratch LOL

Gold from yesterday, we dug where oakview and son had left off earlier in the week, not as rich as i had hoped 1/2 gram 5 hours hard diggin in cobbles and hauling buckets up 15 feet to high banker which is legit to run where we are as long as you have settling pond, this is per parks dept in our area there cool so far no hassles DFG comes by has not a clue if we're in the wrong so they don't mess with us, funny it won't last long i'm sure. MUCH fine gold in this area if a guy could set up operation to move massive material he'd do very well, won't happen.

This is not dredge material this is from yesterdays high banking, I didn't even come close to that dredging for 4 hours but its ok got to get the rig out and run get underwater where i do my meditating :)

My partner in the hole filling buckets of rusty black sand filled material every shovel has at least 2-3 50 mesh and a few 60-70-80-100 mesh

spillercanyon yes everything is below crocker huffman, I hear that this year folks right there sluicing for gold did really well water levels were super low you could get to middle of river i never got there so don't know its insane out there, miles upon miles of dredge tailings,

Hey Vini

Nice to finally meet up with you and your prospecting partner. It wasn't our best results at that spot, but every day out with your kid is the real treasure. Nice to finally put a face with the posts and I am sure our paths will cross again. PS took a hike today down the bridge trail at Squaw's Leap today and the river except for the holes looks like you could walk across it. Forgot my camera of course. Also found a six foot rattler on the trail.

Still looks like you guys had a fun day though. :)

I bet someone probably hit that spot before the dredge ban being so close to the access point by the bathrooms.
I would bet that island has something to offer.

Take care and keep having fun. :)

Hey Vini, for you and a couple other guys who really want to fight back, here's a risky idea to toss around. The DFG defines a suction dredge as having
1. - a suction hose 2. -motorized engine 3. - a sluice box. How about leaving the sluice box home? You can still remove overburden down to inches
from bedrock, shut down, and snipe or hand dredge the remaining material. It would play out like "no officer, i am not suction dredge mining, i am just
preparing my claim to better extract recoverable minerals". The water board will eventually have TMDLs (total maximum daily limits) for all rivers, for
sediment/turbidity, but last time i checked they are still studying that. Better have a good lawyer waiting, and video document every thing.
