Dowsing for Gold using L-rods

Almost looks how I at times use my rods (for dowsing a digital map on a large screen). I will even have both hands closer together than here. Years ago found the technique very useful in Arizona desert, walk to old tailing piles. Every time going around a large cactus, had to stop and realign my direction. It was a lot of stopping to check my L-Rods.

Some dowsers find underground utilities with the rod tips drawing together (instead of crossing directly over). Basically, what I'm doing in that photo but moving both hands farther apart as rod tips stay together. Also often go back over target pinpointing with thumb clamped on rod bend and allowing other rod to either swing away (when leaving target) or moving toward map signal (as thumb-on-rod hand finds location).

Easier to follow action if break down to a series of still images. I have the exact same thing happen on a digital map screen dowsing. I never use my laptop screen, always a larger external type.

The photos don’t show how you need to direct your total focus on the dead rod.

I understand that, did some video dowsing myself. The bright colored IR is too distracting, need to make new ones. In your video the right loose swivel rod gradually moves toward thumb rod (until nearly touches). Then begins to cross over thumb rod (little bit at first). Crosses more then slowly reverses the entire process.

Not that much to analyze here. It’s the same as the double rod sweep used in the GDI video. The difference is both hands pressed together makes a solid base. As soon as you see the right rod start to move, mark your line. If you sweep in the opposite direction the right rod will swing outwards but I mainly sweep clockwise.

I understand the method, this works for me also. Happens to be my left hand is the thumb/bend rod and my left hand for pendulum dowsing. I have used both hands together (touching) with both rods loose to move but pointing parallel on long range targets in the desert. Then as you get closer one rod my start to move over and put thumb on bend. My L-rods without handles it is harder to see which hand is thumb-clamped. I will put thumb on bend with index finger under bend. For digital screen dowsing you can start with both hands together, when the other rod moves over spread hands apart some (helps keep rod tips together). Or begin with both hands touching and both rods loose.

In case you missed it, as soon as the free rod starts to move, take your line with the dead rod. It doesn't matter how far the free rod swings.

It doesn't really matter how far, it happens to me sometimes. Important thing is free rod tip draws toward fixed rod. To me this indicates a positive response and the opposite (repelling by swinging away from) a negative. As you move on and off target, positive on or pinpointed, then negative off or not pinpointed.

Antenna type. The antenna is pure brass while the rest of the body is another 24k gold plated metal. I guess its steel

GDI takes other equipment and puts their own take on it. I like their stuff. Simmons rods are like three times as expensive. More cost does not always translate to a better product. And as nice as any rod is, you still have to take the time to learn it. Anything with a swivel handle takes a VERY LONG TIME to learn and most people never get it.

Yes, looks to me like a very well-made dowsing tool.

Video by Lion and Chinese Dowsing Angels, found it posted in one of the Mexican FB dowsing treasure hunter groups. Recently some of them have taken trips to hunt with the Chinese dowsing treasure hunters.

Recently, during their search, I dowsed a photo for the Chinese dowser (posted it in the Mexican group). Video goes to the search with beeping detector followed by dowsers. It all starts with dowsing but when metal detector turned on dowser stay back until needed.

Video is nearly 26 minutes and looking at one find, probably is at the old royal highway (think is Mexico or South/Central America).

Yeah thats a unique design. Could have done a better job with the construction. It looks like the tube was bent too sharply at the base and is just waiting to snap off. Should have probably used a tube bender to maintain integrity. Just a thought.

Spanish speaking dowsers will even use tube parts from automobiles for handles... don't know if he designed this himself. The curve probably was mostly to counterbalance the weight (although he claims it helps with dowsing frequency).

Ah ok. I only said that because I made my first pair of L rods out of copper tubing like this and also made the same sharp bend in the rods. At the upper part of the bend the copper got pulled too thinly apart. They lasted a while but the bends were too unstable and eventually got bumped and ripped apart in the field. Maybe he can use a tube bender for version 2 of this one if he has the same issue.
