Hit my iron infested beach this morning for a couple hours and scooped 3 silvers.

It's been forever since I hit a big silver, in fact I only dug 1 Morgan and 1 other walker in 30+ years of on and off detecting.

What makes this morning interesting tho is that after about 5 minutes a guy with his AT Pro walks up to me and asks me how I'm doing.

At that time I only had a wheatie, as I just started. Well we talk for a minute and he walks off doing the waters edge too, just like me.

I say to myself, Self, this guy isn't going to last 10 minutes on this beach with a AT Pro. Not that I dislike AT's, in fact I own one my self and used it here, that is why I knew that there was no way he could handle all the iron unless he is a expert with hundreds of hours of use. And In my experience those users are few and far in-between.

Sure enough, he made 1 pass and called it quits.

Now hopefully he thinks the beach is crap and that's the last of him.

Below are pics of the old coins I found along with a sample of the smaller iron and crap the Deus does it's magic in.

The walker is in outstanding condition. It must of dropped years ago in the sand and finally washed out recently.

You got a great beach !
Congrats on the Silver !
Gary

Thanks, I informed my hunting buddy, Game Over Man, about my luck and he got motivated to hit the beach too, after I left. He also killed it, multiple silvers and a ring.
Hopefully he posts pics somewhere in the forums

Dang, i wont be able to get back to the beach till Tuesday and the conditions will be changed for sure. Well, my buddy can continue to harvest the treasures while the getting is still good. Maybe another day or so and it will be sanded back in.

Congrats, the SLQ is in great shape for 70+ years in the sand. Did not know that the Deus was good on wet sand, thought you'd use the Excal.

Pristine looking walking lady there, very nice. Congrats! :occasion14:

It is a Walking Liberty Half Dollar not a SLQ.. I am still waiting for my first SLQ of the season.

No Excall use because I am hunting in the shallow on FRESHWATER beaches along the 1640 miles of shoreline Lake Michigan has. Unless I dive or go shoulder deep, my Deus is my favorite goto water machine.

To be honest I'm am still a rookie with the Excal and almost wish I had my CZ 21 back. I will give it a few more hunts and then if I don't get it, it will be sold.

Thanks, It must of been laying deep in the dry sand all these years and just got blown out by the recent weather.

Nice finds TP. Are we talking a Michigan or Superior freshwater beach here?

Thanks, Lake Michigan

My hunting buddy ended up with a silver quarter a Merc , Rosie and a Chicago worlds fair ring plus wheats etc

Nice spot. Sounds like a dream.

Lol! "The Douce" I think the Deus should be nick named that. Very funny. Congratulations on the Silver!

You can thank John from Edmonton for that one.

Congratualtions on the big and little silver! :occasion14:
