Me thinks that you may have possibly found a cannon or a pile of ballast stones, Captain! There definitely appears to some things either from the shipwreck encrusted to the pile such as small pieces of China, maybe even coins or other. It definitely deserves and up close and personal! In the meantime, I will try to edit the pics to bring items more into focus and sharpen the images. If they come out great, I will post them later.

While it is somewhat to make a fair determination without something to gage size relationship of the encrusted item in question, I do believe you are on to something and may have actually located an excrusted cannon! As promised I did some editing the pics and have posted them below, so please view them and see what you think. Check out the last three pics and especially 2 and 4.

P.S. BVI Hunter...If I had seen something like that on the sea floor, I would have been shucking my' shorts off right then! LOL!!!

I did not actually "see" it - it was with my camera on a weighted line - but I hope to get down there "soon"!

That is great man! How deep down did you have to lower the line? Less than 60 ft? More bottom time if so! Good luck, love to be there with you on this adventure........hope you find more and soon!

WARNING:

I have just read over the last few pages & I think you are in BIG DANGER of giving away TOO MUCH information. Go back & do some deleting & be careful who you dive with. If I were you (& you can do if safely), keep doing it alone until you have the main cache.

I would hate to see you lose this by a professional body, but its beginning to look more likely. Share the find pictures with us, not anything more.

Can't you claim a find like this and put ship name to be determined later? This is a sunken ship site of some sort and BVI Hunter you need to mark your territory legally to keep others out. Man I wish I had the opportunity just to help in recovering this stuff.

Really there's a lot at risk here and like the old saying goes "loose lips will sink the ship" Like Crusader said " hate to see you lose this by a professional body" and they wouldn't have any qualms in scooping the whole thing from under your nose. Remember it's better to have than a had especially when it comes to something of this magnitude. No job is complete until the paperwork is done, and in this case it's a great way to start.

In most cases I believe you can but first, you must have and show clear proof that there is a shipwreck and define the area where all of the items lay for salvage. These must be included and shown when filing a claim for explicit rights for salvage. It also depends upon where the shipwreck, it's former contents and other items related to it, lay on the sea floor. Some Countries are pretty fair and easy to deal with in filing claims whiles others are not. Then you have to worry as to whether the country of the Ship's origin will try to lay claim to the ship's former contents once salvaged as Spain often does or if the country in who's waters the ship lay and was salvaged, can lay claim to it's contents. There are a lot of rules, regulations and nitpicky things you must follow, do and abide by and that is where Lawyers that specialize in these matters, really come in handy!

I thought my latest pictures would cause a stir, and seeing how crazy my in-box went I was not wrong!

I debated whether to post these, but decided to for the following reasons;

1) they do not give the location, or any clue to it
2) I joined this site as a "newbie" (who got lucky) and received tremendous advice, encouragement & support etc from all the members.
3) members were as excited as I was about all this - and I felt duty bound to share my journey with them.

However, as you can well imagine, things have now moved into a whole different league.
I have some serious work to do, as well as some serious thinking how to play this.

So, if you will all forgive me for a while, I may well take a short break from this thread until I know where things are going.

I will be encouraged to read any future posts etc as I will be on this site daily. Also, I may, or may not reply to PM's - please don't take offence if I don't reply for now.

Thanks TN members! See you soon!

That is a good call on your part and I totally agree! Get your' eggs in order, in one basket, do what is necessary to secure your' find and considering that you have scallywags (sometimes called fruit flies) buzzing around looking to take your' prize, I believe that Pavalov Chekov said it best in Star Trek - The Undiscovered Country, "Shields Captain?", "Shields up Captain?"!!!!! Do what you must to protect what you and we know is clearly yours'!!!!

The best of luck to ya Captain, aargh!:piratehand::skullflag:

BVI, congrats on your original find!. Alas the curse of further leads. I,m not saying i,m right but myself till legal moves if desired in order, would be diverting interest from site and self knowing each visit brings risk of exposure. Tough with out a crew to get in and out and be done quickly, harder yet to not have grief from crew or gov. entities after. As for the rats after your site, that would be where i get in trouble probably, but will need to be kept at bay if possible.Dang time in their favor each time you hit site let alone if they have a clue who you are. Good health to you and be very cautious. Its understood if you don,t post till you are done.Or if you decide to pursue another course awhile.

Its not the picture, its the way you talk about the location.

Outstanding find......congrats, and it sure does look like a cannon.......:occasion14:

AS others here have suggested it's time to "cover" your butt and make sure you are the one that is rewarded for your find, your a smart guy and lucky too, now lay low and get your ducks in a row...........all of this, us will still be here when you get ready,
again.....congrats on what I think will be a BOOMER!........

Good call BVI,
I look forward to seeing more pics and text telling how all is going. I am certain you will be going back to your favorite spot soon so be sure and take a fishing pole w/you so that those that see you will assume the obvious. When you get your certification buy a spear gun so that they think you are going after the one you missed...
Stay safe,
Ken

Awesome,

I knew it, I knew you had a ship !! I like the 1000's of others on here, would love to dive on that site..!! If your sure the items pictured are metal, tie some airbags on them that you fill with your air tank and bring them up !! Use an engine hoist to lift them out of the water from the surface onto the boat... Wow, this is awesome !! I hope you can keep it relatively *classified*, your going to need a bigger team an more equipment... All the best, keep us posted!!

Keep @ it and HH !!

Now that is a interesting find for sure. I have enjoyed reading this and I hope the best for you. Always glad to see somebody score even though it wasnt me. Gives hope to all of us. Good luck, rock

I almost want to say hire a security consultant, don't write anything on paper. memorize gps cord nets. leave no info around your house. dirt bags would not hesitate to brake in to look for clues or maps if they do figure out who you are. As a gold miner I feel one of my most important tools is a good 45. I hate to bring a dark cloud to the treasure beach but facts is facts.
Spend time metal detecting beaches the other side of the Island from where your finds have been. If working from a boat do go fishing, but not always over your hot spot. Especially now you have pics, go fishing some place else a few times. Wouldn't be funny to watch someone diving where you went fishing and caught dinner, as long as it was miles from your spot.
Best of luck, stay safe , and trust no one. NO ONE.
My brother and I were best friends I worked hard for free to help him start a new business. Right after he bought his wife a new sports car is when I began to realize three things. 1.the company was making money, 2. WE meant him, and 3.he never intended for us to be in business, together. I, years latter ask him why he thought I spent all that time and money. His answer was " I thought you had nothing better to do." All the verbal agreements he conveniently forgot. Get any and all agreements in writing, no matter how small you think they are.
example Someone wants to come dive with you one day only. Written agreement on who keeps what. What if he comes and is the one who finds the big chest full of gold. If he gets whatever he finds you could be screwed. You do all the work, work on it for years and this one day diver walks away with the biggest part of the loot. Get these kind of things planed out way ahead of time. good luck.

:treasurechest:That has to be one of the coolest finds I have ever seen. Great finds there buddy. I'm drooling.
