So I’ve been researching Charles Ney’s lost fortune for awhile now and I’m almost ready to go look for it (of course, I still have to wait until the ground isn’t frozen). But I’m wondering if anyone has heard of it and/or has any extra info on it. If you don’t know the story here the quick version is: Charles Ney was a rich brewery operator in Henderson, MN, who obtained a fortune from his business. However, after he died, his fortune was nowhere to be found. Charles hadn’t made any transactions recently and he didn’t give any money to his heirs, so where is his fortune?

That’s really interesting. Thank you for finding those articles. Maybe all this time I thought I was looking for money or coins, but I was really searching for bottles of beer.

Yeah Minnesota's history during the prohibition era is hidden well, Don't remember learning anything about it in school later to find out four out of five people in Stearns county during that time were involved. The phenomenon of history repeating itself and how a hundred years is just enough time for it to repeat itself without any one person whitnessing it twice. Simply hide whatever historically happened a hundred years ago and nobody don't know what will happen next now. Taxation without representation is what I remember and was taught of but not why they felt that way about the moonshine They were making. A complex topic certainly and it appears mr. Ney was a part of this missing history. I met a descendent I believe in highschool she was cute <3 and in my grade in highschool. So his descendents if same Neys are still in local MN area :)
