I don't know about those letters, but I found one too, and I hope you don't end up having the 'wood-stove curse' that I had. This thing had been broken into pieces and scattered (on-going mystery as to why) over an area of 100 acres, along with a parlor organ which I'm still finding reeds from, from one end of this 100 acre area to the other. These stove pieces and parlor organ reeds have been the 19th century equivalent of pull-tabs for me in this entire 100 acre area.

Yeah–They can be a nuisance for sure. This one was quite deep, and has some significant crud on it. I have it in the hot pot cooking, and will post a pic when it gets done cooking.

Thanks a bunch. The letter style on the Spicer's & Peckham match it perfectly. This piece is obviously quite old and I see where Spicer's & Peckham's history goes back to the early 1800's. Thanks again for your help.

Not that these pieces are worth anything, but they were interesting to clean. The one that says HAM on it I think is a piece to an old Spicer's & Peckham stove as "Plug N Play" suggested earlier or a Peckham heater. The fluted piece is what I think might be a partial base to a fluter, but I'm not sure.

I am going to say a tornado must have hit that area to do that kind of damage!

I would mark this solved if I could figure out how to do it.

That’s weird I’ve got a field with the same situation, it’s like someone blew up a stove with dynamite or something.
