Do I have to wait until spring for a good deal

No offense, but I think you're asleep at the wheel there zippy. I could have sworn that Black Friday, Super Saturday and Cyber Monday just passed. Some were even offering buy 1 detector and get 2 FREE :tongue3: OK, they weren't that generous, but there were good deals if you had money :icon_thumright:

Or, maybe you're looking for a deal for next year :laughing7:

All dealers sell detectors at very near the same price without "sales" but some dealers throw in other junk with inflated prices to make you think you are getting a better deal.

The only deal I really saw was on a Garrett Pro Pointer for $129, and some additional reductions in demo models

I was checking out black friday and cyber monday deals and I didn't see any real deals out there. Not even discount prices, I received emails with offers at the same price they have been listed for the past 6 months.
Personally I am not a black friday fan.... I just think it has become more of a publicity thing than a real deal.

I bought 2 used Metal Detectors off of eBay last year, right after Christmas - many people are in need of cash and will sell stuff cheaper then (including those on Craigslist). The dealers pretty much stick to what they agreed to sell the products for. If I buy from a local Dealer (better than some large online sellers), they usually give a better package deal (along with other benifits).

A free BOGO detector (from some online dealers) is typically is worth what you paid for it - it might sound like a good deal, but unless its really something you want, it may not be valuable to you at all.
