DHS Purchases 21.6 Million More Rounds of Ammunition

An approximation of how many rounds of ammunition the DHS has now secured over the last 10 months stands at around 1.625 billion. In March 2012, ATK announced that they had agreed to provide the DHS with a maximum of 450 million bullets over four years, a story that prompted questions about why the feds were buying ammunition in such large quantities. In September last year, the federal agency purchased a further 200 million bullets.​

To put that in perspective, during the height of active battle operations in Iraq, US soldiers used 5.5 million rounds of ammunition a month. Extrapolating the figures, the DHS has purchased enough bullets over the last 10 months to wage a full scale war for almost 30 years.​

While Americans are being browbeaten with rhetoric about the necessity to give up semi-automatic firearms in the name of preventing school shootings, the federal government is arming itself to the teeth with both ammunition and guns. Last September, the DHS purchased no less than 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles, labeling them “Personal Defense Weapons.”

Buy everything up as fast as it can be produced to either create Empty shelves,
or higher prices, to lower purchases.

been on the news allot around here, that local law enforcement is having problems
keeping in stock also.

Their statement say's bullets? Projectiles are considered bullets not ammo (No Brass) Might be a way to keep usable ammo out of the market.

Has anyone actually looked to see what these guys order every year so you know if this is actually unusual activity or not?? Might be a good first step before jumping to all sorts of conclusions? I have absolutely no idea - could be totally out of the ordinary. But that would be where I would start before jumping to all sorts of conclusions? Not sure if that makes sense or not?

In my opinion the best thing to do is just get the facts and then base a conclusion on those facts. Don't forget that under bush the dhs gobbled up over twenty federal agencies. I believe even the coast guard is now part of dhs. When looking at a single datapoint I always try and put that datapoint into a bigger context to understand its importance.

I believe the only rational conclusion that one can draw is that dhs is preparing for the coming zombie apocalypse. All the facts point to a knowledge of mass zombie virus infection which will soon change a majority of that population into zombies. And the need to put down those zombies. It would likely fall to many of the dhs agencies to eradicate a zombie outbreak. I would challenge anyone to prove that this is not true.

No no no Treasure hunter you've got it all wrong.. They are probably just buy all this ammo for Christmas baskets they are going to give out to the govt. employees as gifts..... I'm sure that what they say is the gospel.. Just let the sheep believe that.. Meanwhile we will just keep quietly arming ourselves against an obvoius tyrant...

If they obey the president during a civil war then civilians better get their act together. You guys need to be drilling and praticing every day to keep up with them.

If they obey the president during a civil war then civilians better get their act together. You guys need to be drilling and praticing every day to keep up with them.

I agree with you and respect your opinion 100%.. However I for one do not believe that he would be so arrogant and/or stupid to pull a move like this.. He may have control over the military I will give you that but he cannot control freewill.. The moral dillema that he would cause by ordering the attack on his own citizens would surely be his ultimate demise.. I do agree with you on your comment.. However militias are violent and most of them are crimminals themselve I would not want to be a part of one of these organizations.. I do however wish to protect my rights.. Always like to see your posts crispin...

They would not just be firing on citizens, they would be firing on their familes, friends, former service members and local police and sheriffs departments.. You would have large parts of the military that would not only refuse to fire on citizens, they would use their arms to defend citizens against those that do fire on them....

Military is under no obligation to enforce an illegal order, even from the president and infact can be prosecuted for doing so............. But will they fire on zombie american citizens? I ask because the odds of the US military needing to put down a large civilian uprising is just about the same. Odds probably even better for an ET takeover. But no worries, like car insurance and seatbelts im preparing for all of these scenarios.

But one never knows - the south could rise again!! Time to break out the general lee and start whistling Dixie!! kgc-rebel would prob know best if his secret society is ready to strike. But then again I'm sure my head is in the sand.

TH: Respectfully, I think I read in one of your posts that you believed there was a 50/50 chance of this ending in blood. I agree with you that our Military would not fire on US civilians. Assuming this is the case...what type of blood shed are you thinking about in this 50/50 chance?
