problay been asked a 100 times but what does detuning do and how do you do it ? I've had my 250 a couple of weeks and really have not been out that much with it but a couple of times, and i have noticed some times when i do push pp button instead of it making the loud noise going over a target it some times makes the same noise but really low sounding is this normal or have any thing to do with so called detuning ?

I'd call what you describe the magic of the ACE's Pin-pointing feature........you see, if you detune over a good coin, 99% of the time you will get that nice little whine.........when you try the same over a cap or other junk, you get that low weird sound. It''s a dead give-away that it's junk.........with the exception of having the sens too high when doing that over a quarter. It has happened to me on a couple of occasions. But it's a 99% of the time accurate. Try it and see. Same goes for a crushed can.
