Whether Thomas Beale, as captain of the expedition, had a crusty, grizzled, curmudgeonly sidekick that always replied "yer darn tootin" whenever Beale spoke.
 

Did Mathew "Mexico" Sherman meet Thomas "Swarthy" Beale after the Adams-Onis Treaty was signed when he was running guns on Patterson's ship TORPEDO to Lafitte for those in Bolivar when Beale was returning to Bedford county because of all the Bonapartist activity there?
