Finders Keepers won their lawsuit and the judge ordered the FBI to release a "trove" of documents, which include almost 1,000 photographs, with more documents supposedly to come. Not a lot of earth shaking news, but it certainly doesn't put anything to rest or answer questions:

Civil War-era gold: FBI's records on Pennsylvania search raise questions

Lawyers, lawyers, lawyers. Always get plenty of lawyers working for you if there is a possibility of striking something valuable. Sure, they cost a lot of money. But they can and do save your bacon when the federales come sniffin'.

Did anyone see "FBI: Most Wanted" last night? It featured a storyline just like the Dent's Run "gold" story. It featured a search for 9 tons of Civil War gold in Pennsylvania that a father/son team had proven was there with high tech scanning techniques. It made the father/son team seem like a couple of complete morons with racist tendencies.

They threw in a few murders for the FBI to solve and the Treasury Department swooped in and did the actual dig, but they supposedly didn't find anything. The nearby residents were hollering at the Treasury agents, saying that they saw the armored trucks leaving the site in the middle of the night, and that they KNEW gold was removed.

Any of this sound familiar?

Didn't see it, but it seems to be the coin of the realm in Hollywood these days to build their plots around "white supremacists" regardless of broader subject matter. But let me guess, they included the disclaimer, “Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental.” Law & Order does this all the time, ironically after airing a week of previews that boast, "Ripped from the headlines".

Newer witnesses since the ruling...

Still an older news story from Oct. 2023

No matter what the "news" the essential question remains: If this story has a basis in fact, where did the gold come from? And why was it deep in the Pennsylvania woods?

Good luck to all,
