Today was a lot slower than yesterday, the sand was frozen solid so If we got a good signal, we had to chop and hack at the sand. What would have been a 30 second recovery in the fall took 20 minutes today. Any way, my buddy pulled up another 10k ring (signet) and 3 or 4 more silver rings including one that must be a silver napkin ring due it’s size, plus 2 mercs and a war nickel. I’ll post pictures when I get them from him.

I got another copper catholic pendant and one tiny silver one, a really nice silver signet ring with eagles, a 1946 Washington quarter, wheaties and a buffalo. I think we’re going back tomorrow but we’re gonna go down the shore a bit and Saturday we’re hunting a 1810 mansion if the ground ain’t froze up.

outstanding! I, for one, appreciate your sharing the photos and descriptions of the days hunt. ALMOST, like being there with you. Keep it up.

Yes! Me too. And also kicking myself for not hunting these drawdowns but fishing them instead while the fish were concentrated in a smaller area (although did catch the largest largemouth bass of my life doing just that).

Another nice haul.

I'd be hitting that spot as often as possible. I'm sure you are.

Love it! I wonder if it was originally a signet ring with initials?

I couldn’t see any on it, however, I just dropped it off at the jewelers to have it resized, cleaned and engraved with my surname initial. Now all I need is to find a mafia family that’s hiring (; capese

I went this morning, tried to dig a target but it may as well been under a sidewalk. I think the crust of ice is about 5” thick now and my foot is killing me from yesterday. However, it will be in the 40’s for the foreseeable future so I’ll go back Sunday or Monday, I have a great 1810 permission to get to Saturday and I’m praying to god I can dig, 2 acres with original out buildings and the yard looks untouched by any dirt moving or landscaping............................

Good pond hunt man! Good luck on the other permission.

Looks like you've found a great spot, JD. Keep pullin' the goodies, my friend.

Great finds & an awesome honey hole! Congrats

I like the descriptions and photos, Joe-Dirt. Unlike the others who want to see more phoros of the silver, I'd like to seem more of the Indian Head Nickel, if you've got any.

Damn, you did well today. That ring is sweet!
