CW Eagle plate plus more - Sat. hunt at 1830's property

I hit the 1830's CW property yesterday for about 4 hours. I only covered one side yard in this time.
Sorry you Northern folks, but it's supposed to be in the 70's here all week, so I'm not giving up yet. ;)
One of my first digs was an Union Eagle plate of some sort. I know it is CW, but what was it used for?
I found my very first clay pipe piece too. I'm headed back out today for a bit, so I'll make this quick.
A few pieces I could use help IDing if anyone knows what they are. Here was Saturday's finds:

*A thin copper 3" x 2" CW EAGLE plate. It has 13 stars, and the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on it.
Was this a cover for something?

*A decorative tray (bent to pieces) with "Wm A Rogers 8327" engraved into it. I think it is silver plated copper or brass?
Possibly 1800's ?

*A headless Indian pin.

*A 1956 Raleigh, NC. vaccine tag.

*1800's lock.

*An old pocket knife.
Any idea of it's age?

*A square copper piece with two holes. It looks like a large button possibly?
Did they make buttons this big? Era?

*An 1800' 23mm flat button w/shank. No back mark. :'(

*An 1800's 20mm flat button with "M AM" as a back mark.
Any idea on this one?

*My first clay pipe piece.
What era where these from?

*A fired CW bullet. At least I think it is? (Next to the vaccine tag in picture)

Thanks for looking.
Off to find more. Have a great week.

Yo, Doug, one heck of an awesome plate you found there! You have seriously become a hardcore, dedicated relic hunter. I always look forward to your threads. Way to go on saving some relics! :)

Bone Dry Detecting...Kirk (website running, but not done yet)

P.S. WMA Rogers wilverware is dated 1850-1899. Great find!

Thanks everyone for your nice replies.
This CW eagle plate made my day. I may put it in a frame or shadowbox with some other CW relics.

Sorry bud. The mark Wm. A. Rogers was used as early as 1897. It became part of Oneida silver around 1929, and Oneida employed the Wm. A. Rogers mark as late as 1978. At least that's what the link says.

Thanks for that info on the Wm. Roger's piece. That company sure made a lot of wilverware back then. ;D

Off to get my Christmas tree now before the wife chokes me. ;)

Re: CW Eagle plate plus more - Sat. hunt at 1830's property

Could you post a photo of the backside of the plate please, it helps ID the plate, might be post CW, not sure.

Not my area of expertise! LOL Too new :)

Re: CW Eagle plate plus more - Sat. hunt at 1830's property

Nice Sword Belt Plate Doug. Looks like you found a good spot. You have come into your on as a relic hunter. I am confident you could run with the big dogs now anytime ;) ;D !! On another note, I wonder how old the headless cowboy is? Probably from the 50s I would guess. Now all you need is a box plate or oval belt plate...I have one of those already :D I need the Sword Belt Plate like you found :D :D Something to look forward to I guess. BTW, that Lock is really really nice as well! I would do some electrolysis to it and clean that baby up as it will make a great display for sure! Good Digs Bud! Hope you have alot more....

Thanks Josh.
I knew you would pull through for me on an ID of that piece. Ya-hoo! I think that's the coolest CW piece I've found so far. The cannon ball hunk was great too though. So far all my finds there have been out in the yard and open fields. I haven't ventured into the woods yet where I was told the battle took place. I was told two boys found a couple of live mortars (correct term?) in the creek out back last year. Eyeball finds!
The woods I was told has been detected over the years, but I'm sure they haven't found everything yet. The whole area is only about a 1/4 mile distance.
Do you think that square piece with the two holes in the center is an old button? Colonial? Or where Colonial buttons all round?
I've been keeping my electrolysis "cooking pot" running constantly trying to clean up some pieces.
Thanks again,
Doug
