Made a decision to sell the E-Trac, keep the Excal II and get the CTX. CTX already on its way - nothing like new tech to light fires :headbang:

I dive on occasion and would hate it if I didn't have a capable detector - hence the decision to keep the Excal II - also a good water backup if the CTX is out of commission or I just don't want to risk the CTX in certain conditions.

If you're looking for an E-Trac with all the goodies, watch the classifieds. Should have it up in a few days.

HH!

How can you do that?

After all you meant to each other- think of the good times, the memories.........

I pick up one of my older machines and get ready to sell it and ohhhhh the heartache. I just can't make myself do it~

*sigh*

Haha I am right there with you. BUT I know that if my wife sees 10 detectors in my office I am going to have to do some explaining. If she knew how much any of them cost she would be demanding a very expensive vacation or something. This is one of like 5-6 other hobbies I have and none are cheap...

I'm with ya there brother... nothing cheap about the fashion nail, hair salon and shoe collecting hobby.

Find her a Ring. That will make her not look in your office. Bahahahahaha

I confess that I've never explored the menus.

You really need to get Sabish's book. Those settings are the key to using the ctx. Things like recovery deep, pitch hold, seawater will unlock the potential of the machine. Getting that book will eliminate untold hours of frustration and missed targets.

Agreed. My CTX came with the book. It has been invaluable. Each time Ive been out in the last 2 weeks I have reread the book after to reflect on what I did and what I need to change. One thing Ive noticed is that I do not like Pitch Hold. I felt like it was making it harder to find targets vs long, even once I found a target pitch hold was causing me to lose it. Andy does suggest it can help you find targets outside of the coil better but I am not sure its for me...thats one of the great things about the CTX...so many ways to customize for you.

I know what you mean...she's been great the whole time. But, I'd have 20 detectors by now if I didn't resell. I always resell to good homes on TNet :unhappysmiley: and watch their finds with their new owners...kind of fun.
