Wow. I'm still in lala land after finding this. I'm at Diggin In Virginia and it was a long, tiresome day of digging a ton of iron and a few bullets. Around 2 I headed to another field where I had previously found my US box plate. On my way through the first field I picked up a small mule shoe that someone dug and left beside the hole. This must have been my lucky horse shoe because about 2 hours after that I had a beautiful CS confederate tongue at about 6 inches down.

I knew it was a tongue when I pulled it out, but was floored to see CS staring back at me. It was a lot of hard work up to that point but it paid off big time. This just made my year. Thanks for looking and HH!

Sweet find...I,m not very knowledgeable on these kinda finds ..but obviously it is a great find by the comments left by others !

Congrats on a great recovery.....be too cool it you found the other half !!

Congrats, great find, find that wreath

WOW - that's awesome Matt - congrats!! Gorgeous green patina too. Please don't put any water on that beauty. Good luck the rest of the hunt.

I just noticed you were hunting with an F75. Did you find the tongue in the benign soil in the woods? Its very difficult to use a non-PI machine in that harsh red dirt unless you've somehow figured how to set-up your machine. I'd be interested in hearing the details on how you made that find. Congrats again!

Nice find Matt! The second days looking worse!!! I'm in the truck this is too much for a south ga fellow to hunt in!!! Good luck to everyone whose tough enough to hunt in this.

Is this picture telling me that DIV Was/is a Snow Storm. ?
I don,t know what would be worse Constant Rain Or Snow, esp, while using High Dollar PI Machines.

Davers.

That is in amazing shape. Love the deep patina. Congrats on your soon to be banner find!

Bill, yes the F75 and it was in the field. Targets are a little wacky, but for the most part it isn't too bad. It was down about six inches with iron in the hole as well.
