CRISPINS CRITTERS

Yep, the Band!:icon_thumright:
I have a couple of Canadian band favs... Age difference maybe?:laughing7:
Oregon Jam...Triumph was the best concert attended...until Rush!!

Ever notice how many songs begin with a phrase and lyrics are then written to accompany that phrase?
I'd bet that anyone could easily name a half dozen or more songs like that......

A psychological, yet subliminal aspect to writing (commercially) successful music is to use common and recent phrases....Ya think? 8-)

Best,

Scott

"Lay It On The Line"

It's the same old story all over again
You turn a lover into just another friend
I want to love you, I want to make you mine
Won't you lay it on the line

I'm tired of playing foolish games
I'm tired of all of your lies making me insane
I don't ask for much, the truth will do just fine
Won't you lay it on the line

Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line
Don't waste my time

You got no right to make me wait
We better talk, girl, before it gets too late
I never, ever thought you could be so unkind
Won't you lay it on the line

Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line
Don't waste my time

You know I love you (you know I love you), you know it's true (you know it's true)
It's up to you, girl, now what have I got to do
Don't hold me up, girl, don't waste my precious time
Won't you lay it on the line

Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line (lay it on the line)
Lay it on the line (don't hold me up, girl)
Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line (lay it on the line, girl)
Lay it on the line (no, don't hold me up)
Lay it on the line (lay it on the line)
Lay it on the line
Lay it on the line

Sample with Peart at work on the kit in it .

My 2 favorite Rush tunes that I played quite frequently on the ole Dual turntable with a Shure M44E cartridge.

Best,

For those whom have also been upon a "lighted stage...."

"Limelight"

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage

Cast in this unlikely role
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact

[Chorus:]
Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme

Living in a fish eye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend
!

All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage

[Chorus]

The house that my first wife and I had was an older house....Perhaps 100 years old?
The floors were somewhat prone to causing skipping of albums while dancing....

So, I hung my turntable from the ceiling thus eliminating a "House Party" DJ's worst nightmare....
Back about 1978? 1979? :icon_scratch:

As I was searching through my photos,
For the ceiling suspended turntable,
I found other photos that may or may not be relevant....

A neighbor, Julie and me.(L-R)
The neighbor is the girlfriend of Steve Graham,
A third Degree Black Belt,
whom I trained with learning Tae kwon do.
I'm guessing that I was (early) 20 something years old in this pic....

A pink house...
"Got somethin' you wanna say?"

Bought with a Veterans loan.

For $1 down payment.....

Before ole Johnny made his song....
What, maybe 10 years before?
Yeah, I got some lyrics.....

Here's some of the guitars that I've owned....

An Army Buddy and his wife who came from Georgia to Kansas for the second marriage I forced myself to endure.
For almost 5 years!

7-IMG_0687.JPG
A "Step Grandson." Daniel. From the 80's....Don't ask....Caught him wanting to learn how to play. I allowed him to play my electric....
Notice the bells in the china cabinet?
Surely I've told the story of LOUD Guitar feedback one day shattering one of the bells from my wife's collection....:icon_scratch:

The year now surely closes in upon it's end,
I look back and think....

We have Laughed when we could, Cried when we should and have always been there for our Friends.

Through re-reading of past posts, I've found that I have no greater Friends than here at Treasurenet and especially here at "Crispin's Critters."

In just a few hours, we all will have 365 new opportunities to volunteer, to care and help others.

What resolutions are you making for the new year?

My Love and Best Wishes to All of my Critter Friends for the New Year!

BRING ON THE FIREWORKS! :headbang:

Best Wishes,

Scott

Yeah....

I just now sent a message....

"To my first love....I wish you a happy birthday and all of your wishes to come true. I've never forgot you nor wonder how we drifted apart....I will never forget you and how we grew beyond our differences. I will always remember you as my first love.... Happy birthday, Girlfriend!"

I'm such a "romanticist," right?

Scott

You surely have not tread in my footsteps....

And I find myself crying tonight....
