Please no vinegar! It throws off the electolyte imbalance. I have had patients drink vinegar for colds and put themselves in metabolic acidosis. Rapid dissent into psychosis followed by a stay in the ICU. 1000x better with a swig of alcohol. Better yet...try orange juice and chicken soup.

GMD,

I can't answer this question with any kind of certainty as it has never been studied. The body has a delicate PH balance that can easily be thrown off. I see no possible benefits to drinking vinegar. Perhaps it was the lemon and honey that worked for your grandmother. Vinegar is poison. Alcohol is poison as well. It takes a lot more alcohol to kill yourself then vinegar. You could probably survive all sorts of poisons by drinking them in small amounts. Why?
