CRISPINS CRITTERS

And now, something to appeal to our intellectual side....
A cultural endeavor by Mozart that I would bet
you would not endure, yet, I find to be highly entertaining.

Where else can you go from banging your head to soothing the soul but here! It's Friday, the first day of summer, and after my shower, and a drink to calm me down from the people I had to deal with today,( not as bad as it sounds), I'll put together a simple summers night repast. Til later,........Gary

Let's start with a simple Southern Comfort on the rocks,( add ginger ale if you like).

For a simple before dinner, let's take some panfish fillets,( I like perch, but bluegill is also great), this is called " working man's shrimp", and I use it a lot.
Drop small pieces of fillets into boiling water for 1-2 min. Drain and cool.( I use an ice bath, it firms the meat).....Serve with your favorite cocktail sauce.

Herbal Bass:
4 bass fillets
4 Tbsp butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tsp parsley flakes
1tsp. tarragon leaves
freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice
parsly sprigs
Melt the butter in a skillet and add the garlic, onion, parsley flakes and tarragon leaves. Simmer gently until tender. Remove fish to a warm serving platter. Add lemon juice to the butter mixture and heat through. Pour over fish and decorate with parsley sprigs. Serves 4.
Would be very well served with rice, and fresh vegetables.

Be back later, and enjoy.......Gary

WT,

My life seems to revolve around the seasonal changes and the foraging that each brings. Being a consulting forester, I'm outside everyday, no matter the weather, and as I get older, I find I'm chasing the wild, and medicinal foods more and more. My larder isn't totally dependent on what I bring in, but is enhanced by the quality of the food I process myself. It is one of the most satisfying " treasure" that I find, and moves forward generations of my families quest for the best of " Nature's Bounty"

I really hope you all enjoy the fruits of my passion.

Bill,

This one is for you Friend, the rest are mine, buy your own!!:laughing7: GodBless Chris

Chris,

One of the better commercial beers I've had.....can't remember what it's called but the one I had was a reddish color on a business trip to Boston, MA.

Sometimes I can't tell if I survived the week or the week survived me, lol. This round to the week. I'm going for a planned hunt at a nearby beach early tomorrow morning. I'll stick mostly to the dry sand and see what kind of oddities I can dig up.

WT,

How true are your words, at 62, I'm actually in better shape now than in years past, although I have slowed down, and work just as many hours, but try to work them smarter!
