CRISPINS CRITTERS

Brrrr. And the stars are out , for now.

Forgot about the leak under the sink. Might have fixed it late last night....Time will tell.
Too sore from shoveling tonight to be crawling under there and wrenching.

RC,

Take care buddy tomorrows another day get some shut eye.

Thanks. No worries.

Tomorrow is a chiropractor visit ,More 4 wheelin on these fun roads. Then some shopping. Get ahead on dog food ect. before laying low again.
Doin fine though. Warm temps coming for the weekend. Even above freezing.

You stay warm and safe...

Got the porcelain knobs yesterday.
I guess that I can be picky...I think that they are just a bit too big for the table-top Victrola.
So, I went back online this morning, at 4 am, and ordered another set from another source.
Obsessed with perfection? Nah. Not much.....
Hopefully they will arrive in a couple of days.

However....since the player is complete, except for the aesthetics of the knobs,
I plated the disc last night and heard it again for the first time in over 10 years!

I think that it sounded better than I remember because of the work that I put in to restore this player.
But, I may have been unduly influenced.....

Soon, I'll share a video of it playing. With the cabinet knobs that I am so picky about....

A hint of the disc, which I have listed for sale and someone wants to buy....for $200:

"Born in 1896. Died 1934. Recorded on 'Paramount' records between 1926-1932. Possibly born in Jacksonville, Florida."

Hope all are Well.

Scott

ADDED:

Of course, the sound of the disc is greatly enhanced with using a fresh, original needle!

needles 2.jpg
(Even needles are rare...These 3 examples are worth over $200! Just the tins, empty, are worth over $100.)

Here's a tune that I have the disc....

(a later recording.....)

Best,

Scott

I told y'all, I KNOW music!
Meet me at the juke-joint on a Saturday night!
I've played music at street parties and I've played music on stage.
I'll never let you down when it comes to music!

Spin that disc, Scotty!

Folks,

Heart live from the Royal Albert Hall.

Thanks, Bill.
Your post is right on time for me.

Although I may be going through difficulties on a personal level,
My Friends here always know, somehow, to help me through....
The orchestration is beyond anything I ever experienced at many a Heart concert in the past....

Be Well, my Friend.

OK.

One more hint of the disc.

Rare blues discs are of artists whom have disabilities.
Dig?

Like, Blind...

Back in the 20's and 30's, record "producers" went down south to find and record any and all blues singers and players that they could find.
Many now famous bluesmen were found such as Robert Johnson.

However, many were found and recorded, yet their discs are rare and hard to find.
I have several of those recordings.

Which one will be played when I record the video on my Victrola to play for my Friends here?

Scott

Be quick before I sell the disc!

Scott

I think that I heard today on the news that today was the anniversary of the Beatles break-up and this roof-top concert was the last time that the Beatles were recorded as a group.

And I I cried....
Not for my own mortality,
But...
The day the music died.

RC, hit me with some Don McClean, please....

Ah! How the times we thought would last forever now die before us.....

Scott
