CRISPINS CRITTERS

the last time i went to a wedding it was 100 degrees in the shade and in the afternoon about half way through i started to feel sick from being in the heat so long without water

I bought my grandson a 2018 Mustang for his 16th birthday!!!!!

Last night, while the campfire waned,
I wrote of an experience....
An experience you will never know of....

When the light grew dim, and the story proved credible....
Have you any doubt?

Thanks to all my Friends for the Birthday wishes.

This is what I wrote a few nights ago....

"Night closes in
The campfire grows dim.
The stars come out to play
I smile to myself and think, 'another fine day!'"

"The mountain streams are cold
my attention they hold,
flowing swiftly on their way...
and it's been a fine day."

"Another day, my own way
Come what may.
What can I say?
Another fine day."

"Nature is all around me
in everything that I see
Butterflies flitting about in play
Just another fine day."

Coffee? Just one more cup
relaxing after a mountain sup
Nothing more to say
than, 'What a Fine Day!'"

"Another day, my own way
Come what may.
What can I say?
Another fine day."

"I love to get away when I can
to the mountains anywhere in the land
to live my own way
and enjoy another fine day."

"The fireflies are out now
they know where they're going somehow
I'll sleep tonight happy as I lay
and tomorrow will be another fine day!"

"Another day, my own way
Come what may.
What can I say?
Just another fine day."

Always,
My Best Wishes,

Gold boy my wife drives a Fusion. I love it! My first car was a 1974 Mustang

Grab a- holt of that feelin , an bottle a bit up for later Scotty. That's the kind o stuff 'll get cha through sometimes. That an knowin the Mt's still there, waitin.

Cruisin the old places of my youth gets me melancholy sometimes ,but it's a good melancholy. Lot's of places decrepit now. Should look for some brighter stuff like you found though.(?)

Way back in my memory there's a scene that I recall
Of a little run-down cabin in the woods
Where my dad never promised that our blue moon would turn gold
But he laid awake nights wishin' that it would
When the world was on our radio, hard work was on our minds
We lived our day-to-day in plain dirt fashion
With ol' overalls and cotton balls all strapped across your back
Man, it's hard to make believe there ain't nothing wrong
But mama kept the Bible read, and daddy kept our family fed
And somewhere in between I must have grown
'Cause someday I was dreamin' that a song that I was singin'
Takes me down the road to where I want to go
Now I know it's a long, hard road
Sometimes, I remember when I stay up late at night
When the sun up came, we got up and went
In the shadows of a working day, our moonlight hours spent
Singin' songs along with grandma's radio
Now I'm beatin' down a ol' blacktop road, sleepin' in a sack
Livin' in my memories all in vain
'Cause those city lights ain't all that bright, compared to what it's like
To see lightning bugs go dancin' in the rain
Mama played the guitar then, and daddy made the saw blade bend
And raindrops played the tin roof like a drum
But I just kept on dreamin' that a song that I was singin'
Takes me down the road to where my name is known
Now I'm gone, and it's a long, hard road
Yes, I know, it's a long, hard road

For you, RC, my Friend!

It had rained BEFORE I arrived and thus the flow was a bit much....

Be Well, my Friend!

Best,

Scott

Gold boy my wife drives a Fusion. I love it! My first car was a 1974 Mustang

My first car I paid $60 for it. A 1981 Toyota Starlet!
Quickly moved on to 4x4 trucks after that!

When I got to Franklin, North Carolina, I found myself in unfamiliar territory, yet, I knew that my happiness was close at hand.

I happened to see a tobacco store and decided to stop in to purchase a plug of chew.

The fellow behind the counter was a real cool guy, probably in his 20's, with long hair.
Besides selling the usual array of tobacco products, there were other "items" for sale....

I struck up a conversation with him and inquired of mountain camping sites.
He recommended "Standing Indian Campsite."

So I went.

Friends, the location was fantastic!

There are many sites available that can accommodate travel trailers, RV's and tents.
They offer latrines, showers and water spigots.

There are also picnic sites available for day use and they have security patrols.

Best of all, I drove there and back in less than a tank of gas!

Certainly I'll return another day to further explore the area that I wasn't able to this time around!
I can drive there in just about 2 hours.

Best,

Scott

She said “ the front end shakes real bad.” I said “ well how fast were you going?” She replies ....... 130! I said “ woman you’re not driving for NASCAR, of course it was shaking!!!!

Gold boy my wife drives a Fusion. I love it! My first car was a 1974 Mustang

My First car was a '67 Galaxie 500 2 door hard-top with a 289.

I bought it from my Mom for $1.(Just to screw with the state paying the taxes....:occasion14:)
She never dogged it, but when I bought it.....:laughing7:
Ever hear a 289 scream? Almost as loud as my first wife as a passenger!

Later on, I had opportunity to ride a Kawasaki STX1100 Special.
I told my first wife, "Get on and let's go for a ride!"
On the back road from Lawrence to Eudora, I got that bike up to 130.
I've never been squeezed so hard since!

Later found out that a room mate had stolen it from the local Kawasaki Dealer.

I should have known since it was the next year's model.....:dontknow:
A couple of days later, the police came knocking at my door....
Looking for the bike and my now ex-room mate....
I said, "When you find him, tell him that he owes me 2 month's rent!"
There IS a bit more to the story, but, let's leave it at this, shall we?
Nasty little things like "Statutes of Limitations" and such....
However, I am innocent....8-)

Best,

Scott

My wife is a wicked good driver and she don’t waste time. About 7 years ago, our son called us from 3 exits south of us (off I-95) his baby was having medical issues. A normal ride down there is about 25 minutes. Momma drove, we made it in something like 12 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes another Ford Fusion. Man oh man that car was fast!!!
