CRISPINS CRITTERS

Folks,

Among other interests I did practice martial arts a couple of times over the years. I was taking a martial form of tai chi about 25 years ago. Unfortunately life got busy and I stopped taking classes.

I did manage to track down my former master who moved to Ottawa. I probably should drop him a note and wish him well

But Uncle Bill do you still have that Scottie of Botch? You’d be rich...... or buzzed. Hehe this damn thing never types what I type.

2GF,

Nope unfortunately all gone...lol.

Pretty much down to just drinking beer now. I've cut out both hard stuff and wine as well as cigarettes.

At this rate they'll have me sent to a monastery soon....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Joke of the day— An important and very well publicized murder trial was soon to begin. In preparation for the trial, the tiresome jury selection process took place, each side hotly contesting and dismissing potential jurors.

One prospective juror, Dan O'Keefe, was called for his question session.

He was asked, "Property holder?"

Dan replied, "Yes, I am, Your Honor."

Then he was asked, "Married or single?"

Dan responded, "Married for twenty years, Your Honor."

Then the judge asked, "Formed or expressed an opinion?"

Dan stated with certainty, "Not in twenty years, Your Honor."

You know Uncle Bill, Tai Chi fits your personality....... in my opinion!

2GF,

Well I did do kung fu when I was much younger but as the years add up tai chi is a lot easier on the body.

That’s awesome! Do you remember David Carradines Kung fu show in the 70’s? I tried to pattern my life after him. I wanted to be a Shaolin monk. In high school I saw a couple of my friends bullied. Of course I jumped in and took up for them

good job i haven't had to that yet hopefully i never won't

goldboy,

Good attitude most martial arts teachers who are ethical teach them for exercise, discipline, etc....the use of them in combat is more or less a last resort better to walk away at least if you are the one at risk.

I remember living in Los Angeles and having a chance to study under some unknown instructor and passed on it. I think his name was Chuck Norris. All of my hand to hand training came from the Army and an SFC Army Ranger who took me under his wing when I was in the 82nd. It made Ranger School a walk in the park when I got there.

Johnny,

Martial arts training can be quite intense when I was taking kung fu I probably lost 10 to 15 lbs and I was a small guy to start with. Mind you it melted pretty much all the fat off me and the weight came back in the form of muscle.

Doing push ups on your fingertips and practising katas over and over again until it was 2nd nature.

Ok guys you won’t believe this— when I was stationed in Korea, I went to the dojo that Chuck Norris trained at. They had a picture of him on the wall but it was old. They told me “ sign up, you train here go US be a big star” I said I’m here a year, why don’t I buy a black belt? I received my black belt in Aikijujitsu. Which is the forefather to Aikido. You will know the most famous practitioner some guy named Steven Segal. Akijujitsu is great for military and law enforcement. Chokes, throws arm bars. So I noticed I wasn’t really striking. Sooooo I took up Golden Gloves boxing!!!! Hehe I actually trained with a badass named Bobby Czyz. I trained with Bobby when he was a middleweight. I was a junior middleweight

Uncle Bill what style Kung fu? My cousin trained in Pai Lum Kung fu a classical style

Uncle Bill that’s awesome. I think I’ve read about this art.

What's that martial art form where you lean into left hooks repeatedly? I tried that awhile.....
It was too much like marital art for me though.
